My wife has been using a Sonic for over a year, and raving about it. I never thought much about it. She bought one for me for Christmas and I have to say, this thing is changing the way I brush, the feel of my teeth, and even my gum health has improved. The size of the brush head is not intrusive, the the micro vibrations work gently. The built in timer is a great feature -- I usually go a little past the first warning, but have built up to the second, so I know I'm doing a better job. My new dentist was very excited to hear that I was using a new Sonic. And a happy dentist is a kinder dentist. So worth it.
Pros: improves gum health, gentle on teeth, timer a big plus

I have used Sonicare for many years and have been very satisfied until now. This model is NOT as good as my original unit. The Sonicare 2 is too flimsy and the head is too small. Not of the same quality as the original which lasted for years.
Cons: not as solid as the original design.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
