Although it is a single speed I don't find it too rough. It is the perfect speed to properly clean the surface and in between the gums. Some users who are just starting to use an electric toothbrush may experience discomfort for the first couple of uses but your mouth does adapt. Once you do get used to it, it cleans great. Highly recommended.

This is my second sonicare. Since I began using sonicare, I have had the best dental checkups ever. It takes a little to get used to the vibration, however, once you do that you get the best tooth cleaning ever.
