The gradual increase into full speed was a real plus for my husband who had never used an electric toothbrush before. and I liked signal every 30 sections which allowed me to time my brushing.
I am anxious to hear from my dentist if my Phillips toothbrush has reduced my plaque.
The one concern I have is the charge does not last 2 weeks as stated. I have been recharging my toothbrush about once a week. I brush my teeth about 2-3 times a day. My last Sonicare toothbrush's charge lasted about two weeks. Why doesn't the charge last longer? I also wish it would charge faster.
The Sonicare 2 series plaque control toothbrush takes a little time to get use to it. The buzz of the vibration is a little loud and it takes practice to not let the hard plastic part of the toothbrush bump and vibrate on your teeth. When it does it seems like it may chip a tooth; but it never has. It seems a better design would be to coat the hard plastic with something that would absorb some of that impact when it touches the teeth. I also brush longer than the point when the timer shuts it off, but simply turn it back on to finish. The best part is when I am done my teeth feel as clean as when I am finished at the dentist office.
Pros: cleans really well
Cons: hard plastic vibrates loud when it touches a tooth
This product much easier to handle than prior versions

Love the slender handle design and the way the head attaches to the handle--- much easier to clean, way less gross--- lighter weight so more likely to use it longer. Don't like the dsign of the toothbrush brush -- too flat, doesn't get into crevices well so doesn't clean as well. If you expect us to have two different brushes - one for cleaning, one to ensure no plaque -- forget it! Too expensive.
This brush is much smaller than I'm used to and it does not seem to exert as much cleaning pressure as my old one. I'm not sure if it is cleaning properly or not.
