I recently purchased the Sonicare toothbrush. It cleans very well and holds a charge for a long time. It has the timer feature with a beep to let you know when to go to next section of your mouth and an auto shutoff when you've completed four sections. I will definitely recommend this product to others.
Cons: the toothpaste tends to come off of the brushhead.

This is my second unit. The first had the 30 second "quadrant" timer, so be sure you know what features you want. I've been lazy about brushing, but the Sonicare makes brushing fun. My dentist, that recommended the Sonicare, can't believe my checkups, with no tarter to remove. The first unit failed in two years, but the new one has an unusual 2 1/2 year warranty. It is an appliance I can't live without.
I've told my friends about it, and most say, "I'll stick with my regular tooth brush". To which I reply, "But this thing goes a million miles an hour, and and your arm can't go that fast!".
Pros: good warranty
Cons: selecting the right model may be confusing.
