just a great phone

OK so.... i got the LG Incite about a week ago, refurbished, and well it's just a great phone. ok people say that the phone is slow but no lie there. what people need to do is update the .NET framework from 2.0 to 3.5 and TRUST ME this update will speed up the phone A LOT more. after the update the phone's OS just runs more smooth, no lags. the accelerometer takes a lot less time to respond, therefore screen switches faster. goes into applications faster, they work better. the keyboard is much more responsive, it does take like 3/4 of the screen though, sideways. also yes the phone did freeze on me twice before the update but no other times since then. im 15 and i love the phone. the phone has to be tweaked to your liking. if you say the screen is irresponsive well then you just need to align the screen right. i have fat fingers, not abnormally large but large and the screen is VERY responsive, i always touch the stuff i need/want. i don't even use the stylus anymore because i don't need it. besides i took it off because people thought it was lipstick. the battery is just fine, get's me through the day, have to charge it every night but no biggie, if you turn the wi-fi off when not in use it'll save lots of battery. camera is very nice with the auto focus feature. this is my first windows mobile phone and it's just awesome. although it does scratch easily so buy a case or cover when you get one. i got the ZAGG invisible shield and it's amazing.
Pros: camera/video quality, ease of use, good for texting, menus, speaker, tools, Wi-Fi capable, stereo bluetooth
Cons: battery life, limited memory, outer stylus
I would recommend this to a friend!

Overall a great phone!!

I have had the incite for almost a month now. Initially I found it difficult to use, and was considering returning it for the lg vu or the samsung eternity. But after I used the incite for a couple of days it really began to grow on me.
The touch screen was my biggest problem at first. It takes a while to get used to. But once you have calibrated it, and once you get used to the way it responds, it really is not that bad. It is a little sluggish, but the pro's far outweigh the cons.
The features are great! I regularly use it for texting, emailing, listening to music, outlook and editing word documents through ms office mobile. Another great feature is the location of the port for the sd memory card. It is on the side of the phone. (I have had phones where you can only get to the memory port by removing the battery.)
I bought an sd memory card with a usb flash drive adapter so that I can transfer files from my computer and edit them on my incite while I am on the go.
The best part of this phone is the long battery life! It will hold the charge for 4 days with regular use (phone calls, texting, some browsing and emailing, listening to music) You have to manage your applications well in order to accomplish this, but it is very do-able. All you have to do is use the task manager to shut down applications after you are done using them. If you aren't going to be using the internet, then turn off blue tooth and wifi. I have heard that most touch phones require a daily charge, but the incite is remarkable!!
Despite a couple of annoying drawbacks such as the hanging stylus, and the time it takes to get used to the touch screen, I have found the incite to be a great touch phone!!
Pros:
- Battery life
- fast internet browsing
- nice display
- external scroll wheel for easy navigation
- features (ms office
Cons:
- no internal storage for stylus (I keep it on my keychain, so for me this is really only a minor inconvenience)
- takes a while to learn to use the phone

Good Phone

I have the refurb...I love the phone. Its pretty confusing when you first get it (as any smartphone/PDA would be). You can adjust the backlight, so all of this talk about not being able to text in a highly lit area can slim down a little, its not that bad! But I must say that the phone cuz use more features, and I have to soft reset about twice a day because the phone freezes up. Im a previous Palm Treo user, and I would have to say that the Treo is better, but besides the iPhone, & the blackberry (that I refuse to pay an extra $30 a month for) this is the best phone they have. The stylus does not have a hidden compartment in the phone, it can be attached as a charm would be on a phone. The battery lasts me through out my 6 hour day and beyond (included mediaNET usage) The speakers to play music through the phone is great.
oh, and the camera...the pictures look good on other phones, but when I uploaded my pics from my phone onto facebook they looked pretty sorry, but it is all about the lighting!
Goodluck!
Pros: battery life, games, speaker
Cons: freezes, operating system, software bugs

Excellent all-in-one device, but also a Great Phon

This phone is fantastic. It does everything that phones that start with a lower case"i" can't do. The camera is great quality and has a slim camera feel when in use. LG added fat finger friendly button so you won't have to use much if any of Windows tiny menus. To anyone who has trouble with this phone here are a few comments... it DOES have a full QWERTY keyboard just turn the phone on its side left or right and there you have it; if you don't like it switching from landscape to portrait all of the time or ever THEN TURN OFF THE ACCELEROMETER; all windows mobile devices have a slight delay heck my iPhone I took back to get this seemed as bad if not worse; if you have problem hearing the ringer then turn it off of increasing ring because it is extremely loud to the point of annoying sometimes so I keep mine turned down but its there if you want it; the texting is amazingly simple, if you can't see enough of the screen while in landscape you can make it larger with the button on the bottom right of the screen; if you are having trouble hitting the right button on-screen I suggest recalibrating the touch screen to how YOU touch and NOT how the guy at the store probably set it up; making a call couldn't be easier either, just press call button (a real button) use the handy scroll wheel "thingy" to jump to your call (most recent ones list first then alphabetical) and press call again or just press the call button and start dialing and the phone will let you dial manually AND suggest contact with the same digits as you are dialing. Adding ringtones is super easy it will take any .MP3 as long as its with in a set size range (just get the parts of a song you want).
The Battery last about 4 days of moderate use and 2 under heavy use with games and GPS. Look the GPS btw, get Google maps. the "Browser" program works much better than Mobile IE does. Also I am writing this review on a computer that didn't have internet until I plugged in my INCITE with the provided USB cable. It doesn't cost any extra per month either just uses your MediaNet but its full fast internet.
Okay there are a few minor problems The voice activated stuff doesn't work as well as it did on my other phones (actually almost impossible to get it to work properly...for me anyway) and you do have to turn it off every and on every now and again but that is Windows doing that and every phone is recommend to be turned off for 10 sec atleast once a week. (swaps towers or something).
Basically if you are having problems with this phone there is a setting to fix it. The LG menus make it better than any other windows mobile phone. Also NO the phone isn't the easiest to use but DUH nothing with this many features is. It does have a slight learning curve if you dive deep into it but again the LG menu makes it super easy...learn it...love it. The phone has a nice feel in your hand, the speaker phone is loud and clear, charges on any USB port or the travel charger, turned on the voice notification of the low battery (neat feature), added Google search to mobile desktop, it has a transcriber that recognizes and types what you write, has plenty of IM support pre-installed. Windows media player work like the one on any XP computer.
I just can't get enough of this phone.

Love My Phone
on March 31, 2009

My last phone was a Motorola RAZR and I loved it until everyone else started to get one. I made a decision that my next phone would be a smartphone because not many people use them. I was going to get the IPhone but the plans are too expensive for me.
In December, I saw the Incite for the first time and immediately fell in love with the looks and the features. In February, I decided to get it. I have had it for a little over a month and love it. I am just now getting into working with it a lot.
My advice is to play with it. I have read all of the reviews on here and the only thing I can say is that there are options on the phone to take care of 95% of the problems I have read. Ringtones can be assigned, beeps can be used for keys pressed, accelarator can be adjusted, backlight can be adjusted, If you are computer savvy just a little you can program this. I have a couple of ringtones that I can't assign by using the large menu button but can assign them if I go into the program from the START button.
As a matter of fact if you can't do something by using the buttons on the bottom of the screen, you can find the same program by using the START button.
I love the features and probably won't use most of them like editing documents but I do like to use the web and check my email and text.
I do wish the texting area was bigger in landscape mode but there are free 3rd party apps that you can download to change a lot of this. Try the lg-incite forum to find out all about what you can do with this phone.
If your phone is freezing it is probably because you are storing too much on the phone. Go out and buy a micro sd memory card and move your files to it and your memory will increase and your phone will run faster.
I DO HOPE THAT AT&T WILL ALLOW US TO UPGRADE TO THE NEXT WINDOWS MOBILE UPGRADE BECAUSE IT LOOKS REALLY REALLY GOOD AND WILL SOLVE THE STYLUS PROBLEM.
Pros: battery life, camera/video quality, speaker, Wi-Fi capable
Cons: limited memory, small keys

Great phone with lots of extras!

I've had my LG Incite for about 2 1/2 weeks now and I love it. At first it was kind of hard to use, but now that I've had some time to play around with it everything is a lot easier.
The phone itself has a very nice sleek design. It's lightweight and fits very nicely in your pocket or in a case clipped to your side or your purse. It is a fingerprint magnet, so you will need to get a little cleaning cloth to wipe it down every now and then. The buttons on the outside of the phone work very well and the 3.5 mm headphone jack is great. The battery life is very good. I can get online, play games, and do other things on my phone for hours and still have plenty of battery life to last me the whole day and then some. I've had my phone on for a couple days and still had a lot of battery life left. My old phone I had to charge it everyday, so I love that I can go a couple days without having to worry about charging it.
The touchscreen is overall very responsive. At first it was hard to get it to respond to small icons like checkboxes, but after using it for a while I've found where on the screen I need to press in order for it to recognize my actions and it doesn't bother me. The items in the Windows Start Menu are don't respond right away sometimes, but when again after playing around with it I've found how to press certain things to get them to work right. All the menus and everything else works great including the full screen QWERTY keyboard.
It does take up almost the whole screen, but you can hide the menu bar at the bottom and it gives you a little more room to see what you're typing. The phone dialer responds very well too when you're typing in a phone number and I love how it plays a different little tune for each number you press! (You can also change this or turn it off if it's something you don't like.)
The 3 megapixel camera is really good in my opinion and better than I had anticipated. I took a picture indoors that was kind of low light and the camera automatically lightened the picture up! I was also able to go into 'My Pictures' and use the Auto Fix feature to lighten the picture up even more! The camcorder works well too.
I really like how you can customize the phone too. It comes with different themes to choose from and there's a Favorites Menu that you can customize with 9 apps that you use the most. You can choose what shows up on the Today Screen and in what order they show up too. You can even hide the Today Screen all together. You can use MP3s as ringtones, you just have to make sure they're about 30 seconds long (which is plenty for a ringtone) for the phone to recognize them as ringtones.
The Wifi works great. It picks up networks from a good distance. My cousin has a iPod Touch and we where sitting in the same spot, she couldn't get it to pick up any networks, but my Incite picked up two different networks. Wifi is a must for me. I work from home, so when I'm out on the go, I need to be able to check my e-mails and this phone does a great job.
I would definitely say this is a great phone. It does take a little time to get used to, so I would recommend it to people who are really good with electronics. It's not that hard to learn how to use it, but people who just like basic phones, might find it overwhelming.
Pros: battery life, camera/video quality, durable, ease of use, games, good for texting, menus, speaker, tools, Wi-Fi capable

SO COOL

I got this phone today, so far I'm loving it. The keys have responsive touch, so it FEELS like you're pushing a button. I like that it can go between a qwerty and squished qwerty (basically averages 2 letters per 14 keys, but all the keys are bigger). It has wifi and everything else you could want :) Feels sturdy in your hand.

Great WM handset, best WiFi/BT I have seen
on November 22, 2008
Posted by: Iceberg
I was quite impressed with this WM phone. Not only does it have the cool "shine like" LCD, the features are very impressive. The voice quality is excellent both using the handsfree bluetooth or the headset directly. I especially like the FM radio, as well as the BT stereo features. Very rich Bluetooth profile support for BT lovers. The WiFi performance was the best I have ever seen. This is also the first phone that I have seen that you could be streaming video over WiFi and still use the BT stereo headset at the same time without having poor video or audio performance. Not sure how LG did it, first time around, but this is a very solid phone.
