Machine didn't last 2 years

I'm not sure what the problem is, belt, motor, etc. It's noisy now and doesn't function properly after 2 years of mediocre service. I will try disassembly and repair myself, but if that doesn't work, I probably will not buy another GE product.

Very disappointing GE

I guess I’m the lucky one! After reading all these reviews I’ve decided it’s not worth trying to fix this washer with new parts. I’ve had this for 7 yrs now and looks like that’s old for this machine. That’s sad!! It stopped agitating and spinning off and on with no error codes. I’ve torn it apart trying to fix it and finally got an error code that I’m not trusting thats the mode shifter issue. Was going to replace but think I’ll just replace GE as a company that doesn’t back their products and makes them to go out sooner rather than lasting so they get more money! Very disappointed in a company and brand that I thought I’d be sticking with for 60+ yrs to come! Sad that things are made so poorly and companies aren’t about quality anymore.

6 yr old washer-drain & spin issue
on July 16, 2016

Had my washer 6 1/2 yrs, no issues til recently when it stopped spinning & draining completely even after spinning an extra time. Hubby googled troubleshooting tips since the belt & motor were ok & found a problem with the fill tube (?). Take the front cover off & you'll see a tube coming down from the top to a box on the side of the drum. Pop the tube off the box & clean it out, ours was clogged with lint & those Downy Unstoppable balls that didnt dissolve. Replaced the tube & it seemed to be ok. Dont ask me why that made a difference, but it did.

Not sure of the age of this unit, you can figure it out if you like, the serial number is LT136083G if that helps--it's furnished in a rental I'm in temporarily.
This is the absolute bottom of the barrel, worst washing machine I have ever encountered. The controls make no sense. It's the loudest appliance ever made. I literally cannot be on the phone when this machine is in spin cycle. GE, you have failed. Please, regroup and try again. This is not a product to be proud of.

Quit trying to OVER Fill it! :)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There are all these negative comments... It may say Colossal Capacity but that doesn't mean try to put EVERYTHING in at once! If you fill the tub with clothing as the instructions say on the lid and DO NOT START the water before hand you don't have the dry clothing or dirty clothing issues! Trust me... I done all that at first! :) As for noises, I don't have that issues so I am not sure what that is about. I have had mine since Sep. 2010 the only issue I had was not rinsing enough. But when I called the warranty center my problem was fixed. If I run a LARGE LARGE load in it I need to put it on the fabric softener setting (even if I am not using any) and it took care of the leaving soap suds behind!!!

Great Features, Value for Money Spent

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was the first HE washer I've owned so it took some time for me to wrap my head around the concept of a lower water level. After using this washer a few times, I was very happy with the results. My clothes were clean, well-rinsed, and had minimal "twists" even on the maximum spin cycle. We've owned this washer for a little over 2 years and are very happy with our purchase.

I love this machine! I can't believe all the negative reviews... Things come out very clean. The spin cycle gets clothes nearly dry! Maybe people just don't know how to use the machine..
