This product was a complete waste of money

I do not do much laundry due to my business travel, but over a 2 year period and about 50 loads of laundry my machine was worn out! The motherboard fried and the cost to repair exceeds what I paid for the machine.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Had to replace after only 3 years

I am sorry to say that this was the worst major appliance I've ever owned. I regretted the purchase soon after I started using it. I read the manual and knew to expect different sounds but these were disturbingly loud and startling until we got used to them. The machine had poor wash quality ... cotton setting was too rough for casual clothes, but the casual clothes setting did not wash well. Then after only 3 years, the washer quit spinning and the repair would cost more than a new washer.
I am SO dissatisfied, I will not buy another GE product and will advise others to do the same.

I bought this machine in January of 2010 because of the good price. Had I read the reviews first, i would have bought a front loader instead. This machine is a major disappointment. It does not get my clothes very clean. It says colossal capacity, but trust me, because of the water level, you cannot fill it all the way or your clothes will have dry areas. Three times since owning the machine we have had a repair man come out to address the same issue. Towards the end of the spin cycle the machine makes a horrible clacking noise. Since our washer and dryer are in the kitchen, we have to shut our bedroom door to dull the noise. As of today, it is still making the same noise. Do some research and Do Not Buy This Machine.

Won't spin clothes dry

My wife has always complained about this machine and says it doesn't clean well. Today I tried to do wash and the spin cycle doesn't work. I've tried 3x to repeat the spin cycle. The machine makes a noise but doesn't spin. I had to hand wring out the laundry and dry.
I agree with many of the other reviews, this machine is not a high quality machine and should have been recalled or repaired for customers. Ours is 3 years old. The other reviews I've read indicate it will cost more to repair than the machine may be worth. I think I'll likely buy a new washer and pick a different brand.

Purchased June 2010.washer was just out of warranty n the motherboard behind the control panel went bad. After complaining so much they did replace part free of charge. One point for customer care! Now 3 yrs later the agitation cycle is so noisy n doesn't turn the clothes properly. Supposedly this washer has a belt drive no gears! So much for technology. Been using ge appliances for 40+yrs n finally bought a lemon lasting only 3 yrs. this is my 3rd washer so you know how long the others lasted. Will not purchase from this company again. Poor workmanship that doesn't allow the appliance to continue washing clothes properly once the warranty expires.

Washer drains but don't spin

This washer is a little over 3 years old. I hate this washer. I will never buy another GE product again. It stains your clothes when you use fabric softener and colored laundry soap. I have had nothing but issues from this washer. I'm so glad to see that this item has been discontinued.

purchased 6-10-2010 the washer is broke. have been having problem with the rinse and spin cycle not working then I would have to redo the cycle...now the washer has completely quit working . broke on the rinse spin cycle and stuck agitator makes a gurgling sound and no water will come into machine. I hated the washer and dryer the day I had it delivered...dryer broke 2 times w/in 2 yrs with the same problem I was lucky ge finally pu the repair bill now have to buy new washer

This washer does not clean clothes. They are just as dirty or dirtier after washing them. 2-3 times does not help. Wish I had my money back.
