Cleaning a Bit Iffy

I have always thought highly of Bissell, so I was pleased that, after my husband ordered my new Bissell sweeper, the product arrived in record time. After the sweeper had been assembled, I attempted to clean some spots of dirt and tiny pieces of paper scattered on the tile kitchen floor. I went over the spots multiple times. The sweeper either wouldn't pick up, or it spit the dirt and paper back out, and I had to try again. I compared the new sweeper to my identical old Bissell sweeper and quickly saw that the roller brush bristles on the new sweeper are a bit shorter than the roller brush bristles of my old Bissell. The bristles on the new sweeper barely touch the tile floor. I am not pleased. My old sweeper still picks up like a champ, but Hubby had decided he wanted me to have a new sweeper, so he is also disappointed with the new sweeper's inability to properly clean. I might give the short bristle new sweeper to someone who has low pile carpet in their house. It should work fine for that. Bissell needs to quality check to make sure their products work as advertised on the designated floor types.

An old favorite

After using a whole house vacuum system, a robot style vacuum, and a broom, we found the Bissell sweepers were still available. Picked it up at K-Mart for less that $30, and have been super pleased. Works as well as they did when I was a young girl. I have laminate floors with some area rugs along with wall to wall in my bedrooms. It is easy to carry upstairs when I need it without having to lug the 36' of hose all over the place! Best investment I made!

I bought this as a "in between" cleaner for my living room as my daughter HATES when I use the vacuum. It actually surprised me with how much "junk" it picked up! It does take a couple passes to get a good clean but it does seem to do a good job. I would NOT recommend this for using on hard surfaces as it didn't clean my kitchen floor at all. I use this every morning before I put my daughter on the floor and I love that there is no "fuzz" or "crud" for her to put in her mouth now. I would recommend this for a nice, quick, in between cleaner for any carpeted room.
