Do not buy this for pet hair on carpet! I bought it for pet hair. The box says it picks up pet hair. You roll forward, it picks up the hair. You pull it back, it drops the hair. Only one roller brush is working. This is probably the problem. So what if it is made from re-cycled material. The whole thing should be re-cycled.

I love the sweeper, it sweeps up my college apartment pretty well without making everywhere dusty, which is nice. It picks up things that I can't visibly see on the area rugs and surrounding carpet so it makes me feel much better walking barefoot on the carpets between vacuuming. However I'm not so sure about the sweeper picking up things on regular hard floors. That is why I gave it 4 stars but if it could sweep on bare floors it would be 5 stars.

I broke my back at the bottom of my rib cage in a motor cycle accident in august of 1992, so I have to use something light weight, and I have always purchased these used in thrift stores until now, they are marvelous, light weight, efficient, and easy to handle. I can do my whole living room without stopping due to pain. What I try to do is 1 room a day and since my home is small, this little light weight sweeper is the BEST THAT I HAVE FOUND!
