I'd been wanting a gas cooktop for years and finally got it for Christmas this year.
We've been having fun cooking again instead of wondering what heat we were going to get "this time" with the electric one we'd been using.

Downdraft Cook top

This product is just OK. I didn't have much of a choice when I purchased it 2 months ago as it is only one of the two 30" down draft cook tops available on the market. On the plus side the burners are better than the old cook top I replaced with this and the raised burner grates keep the knobs from being burned by the hot pots and pans, but my biggest complaint is the glass surface. It is really a nuisance to keep clean. No matter what type of cleaner I use it always looks either streaky or like it has a greasy film. I have tried everything. From the cleaner they recommend to other glass cook top cleaners to window cleaner NOTHING works. And there are some spots that no matter how I try to clean and polish they will not come off! For this reason I would never purchase another cook top with a glass surface. I wish they would have designed this with a stainless steel top instead.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Modern wonderful CookTop

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This CookTop has very even heat and is quick to start. The Upscale Glass top gives off a very shiny look and is very easy to clean using the right products. There is a rubber ring below the knobs that needs to be installed properly but could be made thicker so the Cooktop won't stick when the heat is on.
This is one of the best Downdraft cooktops I have had and would recommend it to others.

Terrible for cleaning

We have the black glass cooktop. It is absolutely awful to clean. I cannot imagine this was tested by a woman before it was put on the market or she would have pointed out this flaw. On the days I have time, it may take me 15 to 20 minutes to clean the darn cooktop. The streaking is terrible. The knobs have gaskets around them that always get pushed down into the hole where the knob fits and I have to get tweezers to get them back out and into place. As a full time employed mother and wife, I definitely do not have time to do that much cleaning. Had I known we would not have purchased this model. It heats and cooks fine.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Design problems

We bought this cooktop a few years ago and have been largely disappointed. The downdraft is very ineffective since the burners are not recessed on this model. It is also more difficult to clean than a simple stainless top would be.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
