Dislike my cooktop.

I have never hated anything more than my new cooktop. We only had it about a month and got a scratch. It is now only 4 months old. Having knobs it aweful and having the stainless around the edge is another nightmare. If I could return I would. It's hard to keep clean, it's hard to clean. Don't buy one.

High maintenance - low performance

I am extremely disappointed in this cooktop. First, it is extremely high maintenance. I have to spend a great deal of timing cleaning it after ever single use. On one occasion it took me more than an hour to clean the surface after a small amount of pasta water boiled over. I no longer cook anything with sugar in it, for fear the cooktop surface will be ruined if one drop of sugar gets on it. Also, it is impossible to regulate the temperature--the setting dials are useless. On the large burner, it only has 2 actual temperatures (despite having settings for Lo to 10) it is either on high or practically off. I cannot cook anything above a 3 setting. When I set it on Lo to simmer, it gives me a rolling boil. So, I can forget about ever making a delicate cream sauce on this stove. Also, it does not maintain a constant temperature; instead, it constantly turns itself off and on. It takes 20-30 mintues to make a simple, one-serving size of oatmeal. I love to cook, but now I try to avoid making anything that requires the use of this cooktop. It totally takes the joy out of cooking. This cooktop is very expensive and it does not deliver. It is the most frustrating appliance I have ever used and the worst product I have ever bought.

Fan control knob failure - Disappointing.

With light use and care, the fan control knob broke of under the glass top. Very disappointing.

great feature

I purchased this about two months ago. Arrived on time, installed easily, and the wife is really happy with it, especially the center heat element that connects the two eyes for casserole dishes.

Heats Hot but Hard to Clean

I love the features and look of the stovetop. The heating elements cook very hot which is nice and took time to get used to because my previous oven took a long time to cook, especially boiling water. The main complaint I have with this stovetop is the difficulty cleaning it. I have to use the approved cleaner, Ceramabryte, to prevent any scratching. That's not really an issue. It takes more time cleaning than my old cooktop. It seems residue sticks more and is difficult to get off with just water and requires Ceramabryte after every use.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Works well but one major, significant flaw

Burners and fan all work well and as intended. Major flaw is cooktop is near impossible to keep clean. Small spills and drops only smear when wiped with wet cloth-way yo much hassle for this day and age

Three years in - one burner does not work

The stovetop had been working fine. One day we noticed that one of the red light warning us that the burner was hot stayed on all of the time. Shortly after that, a burner completely stopped working. Two of the controls are peeling their silver covering, so now they are half white plastic and half silver. It's disappointing that a brand name like GE is putting out an unreliable product.

love the bridge burner

unfortunately we couldn't have a gas cooktop so this was the next best option. I was a bit nervous about scratching the surface but have since gotten over that. just make sure the bottom of pots are clean of debris and there are no worries.
