NEW COOKTOP

I am very happy with my new cooktop. It was a big improvement over the one I took out. I like how quickly it heats up. I was boiling water in three minutes. The safety features like the warning light that tells you that the cooktop is hot is a great feature. It was just installed yesterday so I am sure as I get more familiar with it I will appreciate all of the features. It looks great and as I said it is so much nicer than the old unit,
I would recommend this to a friend!

Heats up fast!, has a lock so that kids cannot accidentally turn it on. Easy to clean, knobs and vent comes off. The strength of the fan is great.

We have had this cooktop for a few months as it replaced an electric cooktop with coils. This cooktop was easy to install and looks very nice. The elements heat up very fast and boil water faster than gas cooktops we have seen. We also like that the glass top only heats up in the area of the cooking elements and does not heat up a larger area. The exhaust fan housing is very large and difficult to hook up an exhaust vent. Expect that the exhaust system will take up more room in your bottom cabinet than older models.
It is taking a while to find the correct dial settings to get the heat you want. Also, it seem a little odd that the dials start out at high when you first turn them on. The fan does this as well. The fan motor is very strong and we noticed with it on high, it is hard to add salt and pepper as the fan sucks it away.
Although the glass surface looks very nice, it scratches easily and is hard to keep clean.

Ease of cleaning

This cooktop has been an ease to clean, no scrubbing, no burn marks. My last one was a nightmare, always looked streaked, nasty, love this glass top!

I love the cooktop and I like how the two burners can heat up simultaneously for griddle cooking. This is my second cooktop and I will have this complaint about any ceramic cooktop I purchase from no on; the issue I have is the appearance after one cooking use. I wish they would come out with cookware that doesn't leave behind scratches or a cleaner that ACTUALLY removes them. There is no cleaner that works to my standards - I've tried them all. But I will always by a ceramic cooktop and it will probably be a GE from now on. Thank you!
