I bought this unit for the downdraft feature, and that works well, as do the burners, which heat quickly and efficiently. An easier-to-clean unit would be an improvement. Knobs are close together and difficult to remove for quick wipe-ups. And I do get annoyed with appliances that require special cleaning products. Life is complicated enough -- surely the talented designers at GE can imagine a cooktop that can be cleaned beautifully with regular old cleanser or a spritz of all-purpose cleaner? Also, the other reviewers that pointed out the challenges of connecting the downdraft were not kidding. Is there a way to make this feature more accommodating to preexisting infrastructures?

We bought this as a replacement for the one I accidentally broke after eight faithful years. I like this one even better than my first GE. The controls are even better than before.

We started to use our GE Profile about two months ago. We love it. The down draft exhaust is so powerful we never have it on high as it cools down the food we are cooking. My husband esp loves the bridge element as he enjoys cooking (fried potatoes, pancakes, or just hamburgers) for large groups of people. Remember to put the vent opening in the kitchen floor before laying down porcelain tiles. We ended up degouting one tile for the vent to fit through. Over all a wonderful product.

After having a 20 year old electric range, it was a new change to get used to, but the cooktop cleans VERY easily (we thought it was just a sales pitch). The downdraft vent seems a little weak, but it suffices. Unit heats VERY quickly.

I purchased this item almost a year ago. I needed a downdraft stove top and I love this. It looks amazing, it heats quickly and is so easy to clean- it still looks brand new. The downdraft is also large enough to make cleaning easy- some windex and a wipe down-done!
