The machine is easy to set up and install. Dependable output. Printing quality is less than stellar, but acceptable generally. Dependable and good value for your money.

First Brother Printer

Contrary to having read many positive reviews about this printer, I am very disappointed with my purchase. It is noisy, shakes, very very slow, and black only printouts are only average to poor. The legibility is feint, despite being on the "normal" setting. The quality of the build also appears to be very cheap.
I really thought that Brother products were suppose to be of exceptional quality. Perhaps only at the more expensive levels.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Pleased with my choice

Still very new, but FAX, copy, scan and print work very well. Prints much faster than any printer I've had. Ink install is convenient, done without accessing the print head. Time will tell regarding reliability and ink consumption. Was very disappointed with the Canon PIXMA MX892 this replaced. It was 18 mos. old with fatal print head and power supply issues. Very difficult to get useful service info.

wife loves being able to print from her iPhone and iPad remotely. thought the printer could scan two-sided items but found it only handled one sided scans.

Great Multi-Function Printer

We are a small engineering office, and the ability to print "B" size (11x17) drawings is a huge plus! The scanner and duplexing work flawlessly. The larger capacity paper tray is a plus, as we regularly go through 1/2 a ream a day. The fax? We haven't even hooked it up. We really would have appreciated another feature aside from "fax". That is so last century. Everything we do that requires a hardcopy is scanned and emailed, or sent to the cloud for customer access.

The set up was a little confusing as it was not as clear as some people said. Also some tech help was good Others were just reading a script. The features work well but the photo printing is poor and I had to calibrate by turning the contrast way up in the presets
