nice printer but major problem

This is an easy to use all in one as long as you don't want to print an envelope. Instead of just putting the envelope into the paper tray, you have to open up the back, move two green levers down, then go to the front and figure out what size envelope you are using(Brother doesn't tell you how to put your envelope in the back of the printer, whether it's supposed to be lengthwise or widthwise) and THEN you can select print from your appplication. Why Brother didn't make the envelope printing function user friendly I have no idea.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Machine works great; software won't update.

I use it wired, and haven't tried to set up the faxing part, but it works just fine as a printer.
The software tells me that there is an update, but when I click on it, I get an error. The rep. said to not worry about it; that it may be fixed with the next version of Windows.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I used high dollar Lexmark laser printers in pharmacy for many years. This printer is almost as good. Perfect for me now retired at home use.

Gets the job done, but...

I do a lot of book copying on the flatbed, and the book often accidentally hits the very sensitive touch screen which changes the number of copies. I have to listen carefully for the beeping to make sure I don't end up with 33 or 99 copies! This could be corrected by putting the touch screen on the right side of the machine rather than in the middle. It's also a little slower and louder than my old machine. And this might seem like a small detail, but I have to reach in to get the pages out after copying. I really miss my Brother MFC-7820N! It was a real workhorse for 10 years.
