Not up to expectations

I've used the printer for over a year. I expected much more from Canon in terms of design and quality.
Copies and prints are fine with the exception that, oddly, copies and prints are slightly tilted. Not sure why existing accurate feed technology was not used and why this was not caught before the product was released, as I've seen it mentioned by others.
The energy save feature is nice because my old printer left the scan light on continuously for eight years.
It's not exactly flimsy as I've seen mentioned but neither is it what you'd expect from Canon. The paper tray is not a tray -it's a hole in the printer with a little half tray and a loose cover that's easy to bump off. It's not as easy to get paper in as it would be with a full tray.
It won't always take an envelope put into the manual feeder.
I can't get it to scan with any program including the one that came with it.
It was in the price range I wanted and had the features but it was the same price as a printer with much better design and higher quality that I bought eight years before! Apparently printer technology has not progressed and in this case I got less, not more for my money.
Pros: Easy Setup, fast print speed
Cons: Difficult to use, Flimsy Construction, doesn't scan, tilted print, unreliable manual feeder

Fickle, unpredictable

Most days it works. When unplugged printer or turned off printer and replugged/ turned on (to move, rearrange) fax no longer works. Computers can no longer find the printer on the network. Very frustrating.
Pros: fast print speed
Cons: Difficult Setup, unreliable

very easy to use product

This mulifunction printer is very easy to set up. Just follow the steps in the manual. The printing ppm is fast. The fax works well and the copier prints are very sharp. I have not used the scanner yet but i'm sure if I follow the manual that it will work just fine. It is set up as a local printer. The paper tray could use an upgrade (flimsy)
Pros: Easy Setup, fast print speed, easy to use
Cons: flimsy paper tray

When the printer grabs paper from the main paper tray it is definitely crooked. It is so bizarre because I've never seen a modern printer do this. It is a good value for the price put we should not have to feed all print jobs through the secondary paper feed to make sure they print straight. I would definitely not recommend this for a small business if you do a lot of printing.

have owned for about two years - no problems - does what's expected. Just a tad noisy but nothing out of the ordinary.
Pros: reliable, High Quality Output, fast print speed
Cons: Difficult Setup

Great printer, lousy scanner

As the title suggests, I have been using this device in my home office for about three years, it is good at simple printing although as the other reviews suggest it prints crooked sometimes, the scanner feature should be deleted, the manual feed is clumsy at best and will not easily scan more than one document at a time, combine this with zero software for scanning on this model and you are now using a troublesome scanner with freeware you downloaded, not a recipe for success.
Great printer and fax though.

when it prints it prints great but I use the network to connect to it. This is terrible to use on the network it will say offline. But I see it on my network and go to and check the setting on the printer itself and all is good. has been a pain every since I have had it. Will not every buy a Canon printer again because of this one.

Awful experience

I've had this printer two years and have used it twice because Getting it set up is a pain! I would throw it away but it was so expensive!
