The resolution on this camera makes up for just about anything, but then there is nothing to complain about! features from timer wide angle low light and autofocus as well as manual focus make this a VERY versatile useful and HIGH quality picture taking camera.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable

Great Camera for a Traveling Student
on January 18, 2010

I absolutely love the Cannon G10. I was going to buy the G11, but I am a student and therfore I didnt want to worry about breaking off the LCD screen that was able to rotate. I picked the regular LCD screen and its wonderful! It is huge and allows you to really view the image quality of the picture. The functions are great. I have done a lot of traveling and it is a very easy to use camera WITHOUT all the bulk! I recommend this to any college student. You get great images and you dont have to worry about a huge lens sticking out all the time. It is also a great camera to take into Clubs. Takes wonderful night and sunset shots. I also got it for a great price, so that is another reason why I purchased the camera.
Pros: good battery life, Good Low-Light Performance, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: Missing features/settings

I usually carry 20lbs of gear in my backpack anyway so the weight of this camera is a comfort, solid construction, the fire button and the zoom button are small but only a little hassel. I like that I can shoot at ASA 80, the picture quality is excellent, good wide angle, not so much on the zoom part. I have big hands so I use a flash bracket when I use this camera for stability. And the flash on bracket makes it perfect for weddings, I use the 430ex flash and remote cord. I have not used the movie mode yet as I just got the camera. I did but an extra battery and two 16 gigs memory cards.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, good battery life, durable, nice solid feel beautiful display

Not ready to go to an SLR, for space or cost/pixel reasons? This is the camera for you.
Want to have easier, speedier access to digital camera adjustments as you shoot, but also be able to hand the camera to a bellboy so he can take your photo in front of the hotel?
This is the camera for you.
Shooting in strong daylight and you need a viewfinder to compose?
This is the camera for you.
It's the high end of the digitals
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable

Have had the various G models for ever. Replaced my G9 when this came out, the 28mm lens was one of the major reasons. Reason I'm not 100% happy is the pictures seem a bit softer then the G9 - perhaps due to the massive amount of pixels stuffed on the chip, and the amount of noise at high ISO - again probalby due to the high pixel count.
Aside from these points, am very happy with the camera. It often replaces the SLR when wider or longer lenses are not needed. Will be spending 2 weeks in Greece later this summer and we will bring 1 SLR and the G10. Both of us will be content with whichever we end up on a given day.
Unless these semi-minor issues are attended to, this camera will stick around a long time.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable
Cons: Poor Low-Light Performance

Researched this camera for a year before purchase. This is my sixth digital camera and I couldn't be more pleased. Having used 35mm for 50 years this camera really feels great in my hands and reflects a quality not typically found in point and shoot digital models. I love the all metal structure and the features go on and on. An extremely versatile camera that has all the bells and whistles and at the same time all of the control that a person needs. This camera is my first that allows me to enjoy the RAW mode and the software that came with the camera is a joy to work with. The images are truly outstanding and matches anything that I was able to do in film. Get this one while you can as it has been replaced by the G11 and won't be out there too much longer.
Pros: good battery life, Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use

Wonderful compact digital camera

The durability, portability and image quality have almost made my digital SLR obsolete. This camera goes everywhere that I go and in someways is quicker to use than my SLR. If I were shooting sports action, this would not be my full-time camera, but for the landscapes, human interest and architectural shots that I take, it is wonderful!
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable

Wanted a travel camera that could deliver near DSLR quality pictures but would fit in a belt pouch. Could not be happier. Some people are critical of the low light performance of this camera but I have not found it to be unacceptable, pretty good in fact for my purposes.
The fact that my camera is usually with me when a photo opportunity presents itself offsets any tech. advantage of a DSLR.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable
