We had an SD850IS before this camera and needed to replace it as it was accidentally left behind at a park. We wanted something functional, good quality and portable. We like the interchangable lense and video works much better than our old camera. Quality is outstanding overall.

I like the G10 but ??

I think the manual for the G10 is confusing for a novice like me so I shoot in full Auto. I received Firmware over the net the other day but I'm afraid to load it into the camera for fear I would screw up a good thing. Why doesn't Canon send us to a local Canon dealer and let them upload the Firmware for nothing? This Camera won't let me take a bad picture, but I think I'm going to have to go to school on digital cameras.
Pros: easy to use, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, durable
Cons: Complicated controls/menu, manual hard to understand

This is probably the 4th digital camera I have owned, and its performance is super. I like the fact that the lens is covered and therefore, away from hazards.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, good battery life

Almost Perfect

Put GPS in it and I'll take 2, this is a cooler camera than P6000, but P6000 has GPS and that is very important to me, but it's slow. I want to push the button repeatedly and not have to wait, also I want the bigger LCD that G10 has. Also need hot shoe for full top of the line flash features, which both seem to have. Basically I want a Ds MK III that fits in my pocket and has GPS tagging.

I've used this product now for two months and find it too complicated. There are too many different settings on the camera.
Pros: easy to use, Bright LCD, Good Low-Light Performance
Cons: Complicated controls/menu, Dim LCD, Poor image quality

Great camera but reliable?

After shooting great shots I set camera up for the night. The next morning it would not turn on. Not a good vibe! The shop I purchased it from has returned if tor TLC to Canon HQ however I really liked the item and I really want it to work

Time/date stamp

This camera is lack of the basic but very important of the digital cameras. It does not have time/date stamp. How can you tell when the pictures were taken after couple months. The much cheaper ones even have this feature. Very ridiculous.
