FANTASTIC CAMERA

WOULD RE/CO/M/M/END THIS CAMERA TO ANYONE WHO WANTS A HIGH END CAMERA WITHOUT BUYING AN SLR.
THE ONLY DRAWBACK IS THE CAMERA IS QUITE HEAVY.
EASY TO USE ONCE ALL THE CONTROLS ARE FIGURED OUT
Pros: Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance
Cons: Heavy/Bulky, Short battery life

An excellent camera for those who want a little more than point and shoot but are not quite ready for an SLR. Also, produces amazing quality video for those who want this feature but can't dish out $1500-3000 for an SLR with recording capabilities.
Pros: Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance

This camera will be better if Canon make the image sensor having a higher number of DPI. Recommend this from Amateur to Semi-Professional.
Pros: excellent image quality, Lightweight/Portable
Cons: Missing features/settings, Poor Low-Light Performance, Short battery life

Just got the G10 and like it very much. Takes great photos but also takes awhile to get use to it. Once you figure out the controls no more problem.
Pros: Bright LCD, Good Low-Light Performance, good battery life
Cons: Complicated controls/menu

Great but not Outstanding

I just recently bought this for a trip to Europe, and it took some excellent pictures. I wish the zoom was greater than 5x though. The shutter reaction time is very quick after focusing, but the AF could be a bit faster. I am disappointed with the amount of noise in the pictures though, even at ISO 80. Also, the pictures look nice at up to 50% zoom, but any further, and you can notice noise and blurriness, so the almost 15 MP doesn't really help this camera, and using RAW doesn't result in any quality increase. Battery life is excellent, and the features are easy to access. The lens doesn't give you good bokeh either.

Cons: Poor Low-Light Performance, small zoom, limited bokeh effect

Excellent Camera

I have had the G10 a short while and have not had much opportunity to use it a lot. Even so, I am impressed with the features and quality of this camera. I am far from being a pro, but the pictures have all come out beautiful. I would highly recommend the G10 to friends.

Best back-up camera

I, was waiting for a compact with RAW capabilities, owned for about fourth months, used in in several ways, macro, landscapes and industrial, the Raw converter is very good.
The camera is easy to use, compact and reliable. This will be my back-up camera to my DSLR, the results from both are very, very close in quality, the prints results are excellent (13X19), the only think I, will like to have is capabilities to use filters, (is possible with the ring accessory) in wide angle position.
Yes I, will recommend this camera, is a great quality, price and performance.
