I am an average snap shooter who has upgraded his skills, and was looking to upgrade my ST1000PowerShot, the G10 was the perfect choice. It is easy to use, Automatic for fast family shots, or you control the action on scenic pictures.
Great camera!!!!
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable

I used Canon g7, g9 and now I am using g10. I think this is one of the greatest camera that met my requirement in a camera. I wish canon did not take the 1280 movie shots. I made a comparison with the canon g9 and g7, the pictures and far better on g10. One of my relative saw the difference. Then and there she asked me to ordered one. Great Job Canon!!! Keep up!!! Also, the lcd bledding problem in g9 does not exists in g10. Thanks canon.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable

G10 Positive Experience
on February 13, 2009

I have been using Canon cameras for 30+ years and have never been disappointed. The new G10 camera continues along the lines of excellence. The G10 is as simple as you would like it to be like when you hand you camera to someone to take a of picture of you. Or as complex as you would want it to be to allow you to explore your artistic expression. A bonus is the camera's small footprint which allows it to be taken along just about anywhere without competing for space in a backpack or purse. I was torn between choosing a DSLR and the G10 and the size and immense feature set of the G10 made the decision easy.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable

I really love to have it as my small partner around the city instead of DSLR camera that i also have. Unfortunately, the sea water came into my waterproof case while i was trying to shoot underwater. My fault that i didnt check that case well. Great camera, love how it looks and love how it works. It would be better if we also can change the shooting mode on the screen. So when i go to underwater i can switch between photo and video, that will be more fun to have it with me (Again).
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, good battery life, durable
Cons: Missing features/settings, Poor Low-Light Performance, Heavy/Bulky, no gps

Canon G 10

I bought this little camera to replace my G 9. I gave that camera to my son. I probably did not need the extra mega pixels on it. It is a great little camera as long as you use it in good light. I have the opinion that all cameras have some limitations and if you realize that going in then you are going to be much happier. The image quality is superb under the right lighting conditions. It is a little heavy, but is because it is built so great. Wonderful LCD.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, durable
Cons: Poor Low-Light Performance

G10 for goodness sake

Best high end point and shoot on the market. Image quality is comparable to DSLR. Settings are excellent. LCD is great. Colors and contrast are marvelous. Although I gave several cons, the G10 is no worse then other top end point and shoots in low light. Weight and size are a bit of a negative but then again I like the feel and heft of the camera
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, good battery life, durable
Cons: Poor Low-Light Performance, Heavy/Bulky

The G10 is a great camera. What is so great about it is that you can use it with many different custom settings. The greatest drawback, though, is the camera captures video in .mov format, rather than the .avi format on it's previous G cameras.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, good battery life, durable, better grip than previous gs.
Cons: video file format .mov
