Canon G10 - another beautiful camera

I'm a faithful Canon user and the G10 is packed with features. I use it when I don't want to lug around my digital SLR. It's quality is impressive. It's battery life has surprised me, it can go along time between chargings. It's not lightweight or slim, but considering that it's one notch down from an SLR, I'm still impressed with it's size.
Pros: good battery life, Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great camera

I bought this camera as a replacement for canon A570IS. I am very happy with it, I was intimidated at first but then I found youtube videos and it all became clear. It takes great pictures and fits in my purse. The battery life is good too. I bought a second battery, for emergencys. I also bought the opteka lens package that is supposed to be compatible with the G10, but I found them unsatisfactory. Even though this camera can add lenses, it isn't necessary. I am very happy with this camera.
Pros: good battery life, Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
I would recommend this to a friend!

Recently spent 26 days on a Western Med and transAtlantic cruise. I have D5 MkII SLR and several lenses but this is the only camera I took with me. It performed perfectly in all conditions from dim light inside churches to bright sunlight. I don't regret leaving the SLR home at all.
Pros: good battery life, Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great Camera

I bought this camera while on vacation to replace a digital camera that was not functioning well. I was very pleased with it and think it is the best camera that I have ever owned. The various settings are set with dials that I can use even in the dark !! That makes it so much easier to use than having to go to a menu to change settings. We went to Disney World and I was able to get great, clear shots of the fire works even though it was very dark. Actually the 3200 ISO setting worked better for this than the fireworks setting !
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, good battery life, durable
Cons: capturing movement but good for a point and shoot
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought this camera 6 months ago and have been extremely happy with it and canon. My camera was affected by the embeded digital line issue, but Canon took it back, fixed it and returned it to me in about a week.
I am by no means an expert photographer and find that this camera takes amazing pictures with little effort.

I have been a photographer for over 40 years and a diehard SLR guy. I decided to take the leap to digital when I bought my MAC BOOK everyone said get the G-10. Icould not be happier. I can be intimidated with alot of tech stuff but 20 mins of a knowledgeable saleswoman I was hooked. I can add filters etc; I might not even get a dSLR. A great marrage with iPhoto.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life
I would recommend this to a friend!

Bought the G10 for the "parties" and short hikes that I didn't want to slog around my Mark II on. I was looking for a small camera with a fair amount of manual controls that were easy to get to (i.e. not plowing through a lot of menus and submenus on an LCD screen). I was really looking for a digital version of the old Canonet that I used to carry. And the G10 is pretty darn close. I love the feel of it. My three year old son has tried to break it several times and failed. It is a solid built litte camera that takes amazing photos...as long as you have a lot of light. Low light situations are this cameras downfall. But for the purposes I use the camera for, it's excellent. The one (and pretty much only) real drawback for me is that the shutter lag on this camera is unacceptable. For the price paid, and it's position in the product lineup; it ought to fire the shutter faster than it does.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, good battery life, durable, excellent metering
Cons: Poor Low-Light Performance, shutter lag too long
