This BluRay player was hot the day it came out and still is one of the best on the market.
We bought this BluRay player because we wanted both BluRay and Netflix in one affordable package. It has not only performed flawlessly but continues to improve with time as upgrades have added new features.
Our kids love to use the YouTube feature to browse YouTube and play videos. I have used the BD-Live function which works but found little compelling material to usually bother with it.
This was our first LG product and we are very impressed. From now on LG will be on our short list of quality products.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality

Nice - not a bad entry-level player

This is my first Blu-Ray player. The quality is good - not awesome - but it's much much better than an up-scaled standard DVD player. I enjoy the Netflix watch-it-now and YouTube accessibility. I also experienced the firmware update issue as described below, but customer service was extremely helpful. The only reason I would upgrade now would be to get into the Roxio CinemaNow features that unfortunately have not yet been retro-actively provided to this level of LG players. Overall, a nice DVD player with some really great features. It's discontinued now, but you may be able to find it used for a decent price!

When I bought this item, I was not aware of what I really needed. But the more I use it the more I find aspects of it that make it invaluable in my entertainment array.

Okay, I exaggerate a bit. I loved this machine so much I had it pre-ordered a month before it was available. It is great. I've never had a problem with it.

Nearly perfect

This device has been working hard and steady for us for nearly 4 years. We bought it because it would allow us to watch blu-ray movies, was from a reputable company and also allowed us to stream netflix easily to our television. The only issue we've had with it in the past nearly 4 years of owning it is that after two years it started giving issues playing certain DVD's. It also takes a decently long time to load bluray movies regardless of if it's the first, second or thirtieth time you've watched it. For 2008 it was and is amazing.
