compact, superior print quality, easy to use

great upgrade from the previous HP All-in-One printer that I owned. It's easy to use and replace ink cartridges. I have mine connected via USB. It has a feed tray that has come in real handy for scanning multiple paged documents so that they can be saved in one file. I don't have a phone line hooked up so haven't accessed the FAX capability. Other than that, great quality for about half what I paid for my last All-in-One.
I would recommend this to a friend!

No MS7 Driver

This is a great all-in-one printer. Only problem is you can't get Microsoft 7 drivers so you can use auto double sided printing.
So if you have to get a new printer for MS7 why buy this one!!

The printer showed up while i was at work and my 12 year old daughter installed it to three computers. 1 with xp, 1 with vista and windows 7 without any help. She did say that for win 7 she had to download the drivers from hp. VERY PLEASED WITH THE PRINTER. The print quality is exellent and its very fast

Poor View of Selection Screen

It is almost impossible to read the fax/copy/scan screen under most lighting conditions. There is no backlighting and the black print on a gray background does not show up well.
Also, you cannot use a calling card to send faxes because the equipment does not appear to accept a number after the initial number is dialed to reach the calling card (e.g., MCI) switch.
Despite several calls to the help desk the only answer I got was tat it appearedd to be a hardware problem. This feature always worked on earlier HP printers.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

prints very slow. needs time to "warm up" before ready to print. scans slow.
1 page = about 30 seconds!!
DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.

Does Not Work w/Windows 7

Printer does not work with Windows 7. According to HP tech the issue is with the printer drivers. HP is working on the problem and hopefully they will have it resolved by Feb. or March 2010.

I've had the HP J4680 for little over 2 months. So far it's working great. I like the WiFi connectivity and use it to print from other desktops and laptop in the home. I think it's a good printer for home use and would recommend it. I also have an HP K60 all-in-one printer that I've had working for many year. I hope the J4680 will do the same.

Love It! - Great Little Printer

When I bought the Office Jet J4680 I admit the low price compared to the other printers in stock at that moment is what did it for me initially. But, after using it for 2 months I am thrilled with it. I did have a little trouble connecting my desktop wirelessly, while my laptop was a breeze. Other than that little hitch the first day it has been a super printer. It's fast, the images are crisp & neat, it's so quiet I can hardly hear it from 10 feet away, & often have to get up & look to make sure it's actually printing something. It is also quite small & compact, which helps me have almost 50% more room on that part of my desktop. I wouldn't hesitate at all recommending it to anyone that I know that needs an inexpensive, reliable & compact printer!!!
