Easy to set up, don't forget to disable the firewall on your wireless device. Easy to use, nice printer for students or your home based business.

Good Performer, but Black Ink Hog, Wireless a plus

I've had this printer for a couple of months now. Wirless is great. Performs great as a copier, scanner, printer and fax. Impressed with color fax. Delivered setup software does not like Vista but will work. Good print quality for a printer in this price range. I have 3 laptops and one desktop accessing this printer from anywhere in the house. Excellent fax performer, both by scanning a document or faxing an electronic document like a pdf file.
One nice software feature is that you can direct your Internet to the IP address of the printer and can check the status of the ink cartriges and other settings. This is in addition to the software that interfaces all of the features of this product so it is easier to use and understand. Again, the functionality on Vista works but is flakey at times. My PC's with XP work flawlessly.
The document feeder has worked flawlessly so far. Again, a great feature for an all in one in this price range. This unit has not jammed the first time in several hundred feeds.
You will sware that the 901 black ink cartridge has a leak in it. It does not last long at all. I just purchased the 901XL which is supposed to have over 3 times the capacity at twice the price of the standard cartridge. ($14.00 vs $29.00) The color cartridge seems to be lasting but is hard to tell because most printing has been black and white.
I did not get this printer to print photo's I have a D5400 series for this, but printed a 4X6 glossy and was totally surprised at the quality again. This using inks that aren't particularly meant for photo printing.
All in all a good All-in-One.

Officejet j6480 easy install

I will come back and update this, but ordered this printer on Tuesday, online from HP, arrived Thursday. Setup for wireless for two computers was seamless and easy. Was printing documents within one hour, with wireless technology, using Vista. Only difficulty was "left" cartridge and getting that to set right. Eventually after couple of attempts, it corrected and was able to move on to install. I followed the written install page and this worked for me. so far so good.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good printer for the price, but if you are using Vista and are counting on using the fax feature - DON'T. Save yourself some money and frustration and go buy a simple fax machine.

So Far, So Good

I have had this printer for several weeks, and so far am very pleased. Based on other reviews, I definately took my time with the installation, following the instructions closely. The wireless connection went without problems. The print quality is excellent.
The only flaw that I have found so far (as mentioned by others) is that when something is printed, the printer shoots the document out onto the floor, rather than into a tray. Not a big deal, but HP should look into that issue, as it would be an easy fix. (It's not a big issue, but it sure does scare the dogs away!)

Beware - junk! Won't install.

This printer ran well for a few weeks, then provided weeks of anguish as installer (takes 45 minutes to penetrate all levels of xp) konked out and wouldn't install.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good overall Fax/Scanner/Copier/Printer

This printer has lots of great features. Setup was quite straightforward. Just make sure you decide whether to use wireless or USB connection and follow the instructions. I followed the instructions for wireless. Overall this is a great bargain (after factoring in the instant rebate when you purchase a notebook) for a Fax/Scanner/Copier/Printer with wireless. The automatic document feeder is great for scanning, copying or faxing several pages at the same time. You can direct any in coming faxes to a directory on your computer, which saves paper. All of the above features can be done wirelessly or via USB connection.
However, on the first run I did notice that the scanned images had some color distortion, like white paper background appeared a little pink, and gray scale copies had a darker tint. Perhaps I have to play with the scanner settings. Other than that, printing was ok.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Ordered this a replacement for my broken PSC2200. Arrived in two days of ordering on-line; had unit setup and operational within 1 hour and did a testsprint and copy and the unit worked without a flaw. Recommend this unit. Also, setup the unit for wireless access using my laptop and it worked just fine.
