YEARS AGO, A FRIEND TOLD ME THAT CANON CAMERAS ARE THE VERY BEST YOU CAN BUY; SINCE THEN I HAVE PURCHASED THREE OF THEM AND I CAN ATTEST TO THE TRUTH OF THAT STATEMENT; THEY ARE THE BEST CAMERA SYSTEM IN THE WORLD,MY MOST RECENT PURCHASE IS THE 50D WHAT A GREAT JOY IT IS TO USE THIS FINE CAMERA.
Pros: Superior build quality, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, quiet, Quick Start-up time, Solid Operation, easy to use, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life
Cons: Short battery life

I'm not into hd video so this camera is perfect for me.It goes almost everywhere I do.I upgraded from the XSI for the speed and build.Great camera.
Pros: fast, great build, tuff, easy to operate, great image quality

Outstanding camera

I bought this camera to replace my old rebel xt, The 50D
is the best purchase i have my made, but it dose take some getting use to. The functions are easy to use , but some not so easy to find. overall it is just a matter of time learning where all the functions are setting are, after that it is truely a great camera. The 15.1 megapixils is very nice, the LCD screen is beautiful, so nice to see rich colors on this LCD screen. Image quality is outstanding. I say this to all get this camera you will love it. Canon did very well in making this model.

I have found this camera to product extremely good noise reduction at high ISO, and focuses well in low light situations.

50D for Birds/Wildlife

As a long time 1D series owner (professional use) I bought the 50D for what I perceived to be a lot of potential in photographing birds and wildlife which I do more for fun than work. It has not disappointed! With the attached battery grip it becomes close to the size I am comfortable with (1D/1Ds series bodies) which means it balances well with longer lenses. The frame rate is excellent, the new 3" 920k dot screen is fantastic, and the overall responsiveness and performance is really good for a enthusiast type camera. Great job!

Great for sports.

My primary use is for my bodybuilding contests, preparation and training. Since I'm the one on stage I have to make it easy for the photogragher.The Camera is fast and easy to operate,and the LCD monitor is really lets you see what you're going to get. With my two L lenses I'm getting better quality than the pros who try to sell me their own package.

HAVING A BLAST

I always wanted a good Camera, now I got one. My wife wasnt happy with the amount of money that I spent, but I will live with the punishment. This camera is alot of fun, and its pretty easy to use. I cant believe the clarity in the pictures. This camera is a blast Aloha Canon
