Great frig - except for the noise!

My family of 4 four loves this frig. We replaced a side by side model and are totally pleased, except for the sound the motor makes. It is a bit loud, especially first thing in the morning when the rest of the house is quiet.

I only have a few dissatisfactions but would not trade it because of them. The overall refridge is excellent and was an excellent value! I wish that the stainless did not scratch so easily and did not get so many finger prints and water streaks from wet hands. Other than that which I am living with, just takes a lot of cleaning. I am thrilled with the refridgerator! the pop dispenser in the door is one of our favorite features and also the bottom long drawer is really nice.
I would recommend this to a friend!

We purchased our Whirlpool Gold refrigerator last spring prior to a complete kitchen renovation. Friends have the same unit so we knew we were purchasing a quality product. We wanted a French door refrigerator with freezer on the bottom, but didn't want precious inside storage space lost to water and ice in the door. This model is PERFECT! Cold water dispenses easily by pushing a button on the left inside wall, and the ice dispenser is located on the top shelf of the freezer. Both work extremely well. The refrigerator and freezer are both spacious with adjustable shelves in the fridge area. This model also has a shallow drawer at the bottom of the refrigerator for cold cuts, cheeses or platters. The stainless steel outside is stylish and easy to clean. Handles are very sturdy. The seal is tight. Our only 'complaint' if you will is that both doors must be open in order to access the vegetable drawer on the right as the seal on the left door slightly overlaps the left edge of the drawer. We love our Whirlpool Gold refrigerator and recommend it without reservation.

For many years we had a side by side and loved it except that it couldn't store larger freezer items. This design allows us to now store larger things in the freezer as well as easily move shelves in the top to accommodate just about anything you want to keep cold.Plus the energy saved using it over our 20 year old one is amazing!

First time with a bottom freezer

It takes getting used to a bottom freezer. Especially having food in baskets that you have to dig through to find things. That's not bad, just different. You still had to dig back through a top freezer.Pluses: The unit is quiet and efficient. The ice maker keeps the tray full without overflowing. The shelves are easy to adjust for changing storage needs.Minuses: The finish is hard to keep clean. And absolutely SKIP the model with the can dispenser in the door. Even if you drink a lot of soda pop (and we don't), it really can't be used for any other storage.

Minor challenges; otherwise a very good product during it's

I had high expectations and thus far were met. I have experienced three minor recurring challenges. If the left door is closed after the right door, intermittently it will partly open the right door. I expect that that problem to remediate itself as the seals loosen up. The second minor problem is that the if the ice tray is full and the freezer door is opened to quickly, some ice cubes will fall out. Finally, the durability of the plastic drawers.
