Short Life

I purchased this unit in 2012 and was very happy with it while it worked. Unfortunately, three years later (2015) the refrigerator is broken beyond reasonable repair. The sealed coolant system has leaked and the refrigerator no longer stays cold. Repairing the refrigerator would cost as much as buying a new one. Three years for the coolant system to fail is far too short, but there are no warranties (or extended warranties) to cover this defective unit.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Many repairs needed

We have only had this fridge for 2 years and we've already had numerous problems with it. Like others have said, the freezer leaks and creates inches thick slabs of ice at the bottom that will cause water leaks onto the kitchen floor. When it was happening, we researched it and found many many people complaining about the same thing, whirlpool even sells some part that can "fix" it, IF you know how to attach it. Now our fridge part isn't cold, no matter how high we set it.. It's always been something with it since we got it. VERY disappointing. We wanted a fridge that would last years and years like they used to. We thought Whirlpool was a good brand, that has been around for ages, and it's been a huge disappointment!

I really like the product and hope it does not have any issues that come up at a later time. I read a review right after I made the purchase where the water that collects in the catch tray empties on the floor and had caused damage to their wood floor.

I really like the setup inside the refrigerator as well as the freezer. It is organized just right for me and my family. I also love the French doors and the pantry tray. We do a lot of entertaining and this refrigerator works out well for us.

Sweet features

I bought this product nearly a month ago. It is a great Whirlpool product with nice features. a few downsides- only makes 6-8 pieces of ice at a time, the freezer light often doesn't come on (due to a sticky switch?), location of water dispenser is inconvenient..

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Replaced a side by side that I hated, we have a whirlpool stove, over stove microwave and clothes washer, so we knew the quality of whirlpool and bought the french door, bottom freezer, we are very happy with it and the looks of it make it a lot better.Next purchase is cabrio clothes dryer to match the washer, then a new whirlpool stove and then we will be a total whirlpool appliance house.
