I spent 3-4 hrs. on setup then called tech support and within 15 min. it was running strong. Great help at tech support and an American talked to me!! I have used both the print function and the scan function and was very satisfied. I would say don't hesitate to call tech support if at first you don't get the setup to go.

In Love!

After a very lengthy and careful search I settled for the Canon MP620. I have always purchased HP and Lexmark because of the price or they come in a bundle when you purchase a new computer. Well they always got the job done but for printing pictures I was always disapointed with the quality and the way they sucked the ink dry and some photo paper always found a way to get stuck. Well I totally love my new Canon MP620 printer! It took my husbad a while to get the printer set up via our wireless internet maybe it has to do that he was watching the ballgame at the same time. Well once I got started printing pictures and scanning I was so impressed! I found the scanner easy to use, the picture quality wonderful and yes it does use a lot of ink but the ink cartridges are not dried out yet after all the printing I have done, I have been working on my Mother Day cards and other projects. As for now I don't think I will be going back to HP or lexmark no matter what the sale price is, I rather pay a little more money and have great quality! I guess we will just keep them to print out easy stuff & as a back up for my husband's computer. I really don't think you will be disapointed at all!"

A winner

I bought this printer after doing research and already being comfortable with the Canon name in photography. I've had printers from the mainstream competition and have gotten tired of the flimsy construction, ink sucking and poor tech support.
The first thing that struck me when I opened the box was how securely it was all packaged. It was obvious a lot of attention and care was taken in getting the product to the customer. It gave me confidance I was dealing with a quality product. The instructions were clear and helpful. The driver installed without incident and I was printing in just a few minutes. The design is practicle and has an average footprint compared to others. I'm confident at this point I've picked a winner.
Pros: durable, Easy Setup, easy to use, reliable
Cons: none yet

Great printer

Being a Canon customer for many years I have always been pleased with their quality products. The MP620 is no exception, especially given the price/value. Generally, I never give any product a 5 rating. In this case I will.
Setup...I have a wireless setup, 2 pc's, win xp. First, be forewarned one does need to carefully follow the exact instructions. The paper manual enclosed is quite sufficient. I did encounter a problem and needed to do it a second time. Not Canon's fault. I didn't follow the exact sequence. 2nd time I was printing from both pc's in minutes.
Speed...actually, I was surprised at the transmission to the printer. I've seen direct wired printers this one beats.
Print quality...Haven't tried photo yet but the letterhead, etc. quality is crisp, clear and fast. Haven't had long enough to rate ink usage but if comparable to other Canon printers, it will be fine.
sound...very quiet
Build...very sturdy. No dinky, cheap parts or look
Bottom line, for the money you just can't beat this baby.
Pros: durable, Easy Setup, low noise

Very, very good printer!

I'm very happy with this printer. It isn't much larger or smaller than the *-* multi-function that it replaced. It is much quieter as well as faster than the *-*. The set-up was unusual in that I needed to connect the USB first even though I was going to use the ethernet connection. To my surprise this made the networking effortless! That was worth the price of admission. I like the fact that this machine uses two paper paths; this allows me to keep it stocked with plain paper and not have to swap the stack to print a photo; very nice! I haven't used the card reader yet but that was one of the features that the *-* had that I insisted on finding in the new printer. Last, but not least, I found it on sale and was able to save a few bucks. Thanks, Canon. Oh, maybe I should say that I have two Canon cameras, too. I'll bet they connect right-up to the printer. Who could ask for more?
Pros: durable, Easy Setup, easy to use, fast print speed, Sharp Tones & Colors

The guy who said that this printer is "not a true wireless printer" must have set it up incorrectly. You do NOT need to physically plug it into any hub to connect it to your wireless network (although you could if you wanted to). I have mine connected wirelessly to my wireless network. I can print/scan/etc. wirelessly from my laptop, and also from my desktop (which IS plugged in to my wireless router). Be sure you follow the directions to the letter if that's how you want yours set up.
Paper print quality is excellent, and photo print quality, is, well, like a photo (in other words, also excellent). The scan function is quite neat, too -- it will scan directly to PDF, and send it to any of the computers on your network, to a USB key, or via email.
I list "large footprint" as a con, but it's really not much of one. Since it's wireless, you could really put it almost anywhere you can get a signal to your wireless network, so it's no big deal. And considering all of the functions, it's not so large after all. But if you've used smaller printers before, it might take some re-arranging of your office setup. But, again, with a wireless network, you can put it wherever you like.
Pros: Easy Setup, easy to use, Sharp Tones & Colors
Cons: Large Footprint
