A bear to install with vista 64

My ratings are based on the horrid time it's taken me to attempt to set this up. I can't base it on anything else yet because it still isn't set up.
I picked up the printer and have been at it for over 10 hours now. Still not getting it to work properly. Installing over a network as wifi using windows vista 64. You have to open a port, which is totally left out of the directions in the manual.
I finally got the printer to work, can't get the scanner to work at all. I've spent another 4 hours on it.
I am good with computers and can usually fix anything. I'm pretty disappointed with this so far. If you're using vista 64 and don't have a lot of experience and want to use this as wifi- RUN AWAY fast,
Also I have to remember to turn on the printer each time I want to use it. That's a pain, as it is on a different floor.
I'm a photographer, I am hoping to use this to print some of the images for my clients. So far it's been nothing of a headache. I wonder if I will get it installed?

compared scans and prints at microcenter, the cannon printed exactly like the original. had a epson rep try everything on the epson 800, alot more money, and it wouldn't match the color. he tried for 1 hour, the canon scanned and printed with no changes to the factory settings on plain paper, perfect copy. only complaint has nothing to do with this printer is the compare feature on canon site. had it showed the difference the 980 model offers 35mm , slide scan feature. i would have bought the 980 model

I've had this printer for several months now. It provides excellent quality prints for both normal inkjet output and photo output.
I had no trouble getting the wireless to work with my router and laptop.

Great photo printer

Prints great photos. No document feeder which makes printing documents difficult.
Pros: Sharp Tones & Colors
Cons: Large Footprint, Heavy/Bulky, Slow Print Speed

Only had this printer a couple days but the setup was easy (hooked up 2 computers 1 windows xp 1 vista) the pix are great and the print looks fine

Photos ok, but plain paper is not!

After doing a LOT of research, I bought this printer because of the great reveiws it got. Well, I print a lot of cards and letters on plain paper using graphics, and the color was absolutely terrible. It was washed out...anemic looking. I tried for hours to adjust the color, contrast, etc., but ended up taking the printer back and getting and something else. Printing on photo paper was OK, but the plain paper was just aweful. I need a printer that can do both, and have had them (and have a new one now). This just isn't one of them.
Pros: Compact Design, Easy Setup, easy to use, fast print speed
Cons: Dull Tones & Colors
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Regular COLOR printing is Awlful

The reviews I read said this was a great printer...I found it otherwise. I make soap and need to print labels for them, it took me forever to get GREEN to show up on the plain paper. All the prints came out in old photo brown shades. I use all different settings and tried to save them as PROFILES but when you choose that profile and click ok it just prints whatever it feels like not the scaled down 85% I chose or draft quality , etc. It has a ton of features I really like so I am torn as to whether or not to return it. If you fiddle with the color settings for about 10 test prints each time you are doing something different, you can come close to the colors you wanted.
Pros: quiet to use
Cons: Difficult Setup, Difficult to use, Dull Tones & Colors, must manually set colors

The "all-in-one", MP620 does not have fax capabiity. The other reason I bought the MP620 was for wireless capability. My router is upstairs and the MP620 has only worked one or two times as a wireless unit, almost every time I have to connect the computer to the MP620 with the cable. I have three computers in the same small office and they all have no problem with connecting to the router with a "very good" signal strength.
Pros: Sharp Tones & Colors
Cons: Large Footprint, unreliable
