Ice maker sucks

Bought frig. 4 to 5 years ago, frig. works great however I can't say that for the side door ice maker. I just purchased my 4th one, they keep breaking! It starts with a gear making a clicking noise not long after that few to little ice then none all it does is make a clicking sound like a gear stripped out. The first one was under warranty where a certified mechanic installed, then the others I had to purchase and pay for a certified mechanic to install.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love the bottom freezer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bottom freezer is great. Door in door is difficult to close. Must be banged shut to close. Ample room in the refrigerator although the fact that I am short, it is difficult to reach the top shelf, especially near the back. Fridge is 5 1/2 years old and the compressor stopped working. Because of the times, to even try to purchase a new fridge was not an option. Love the in the door ice maker and it's design. At least it doesn't take over 1/2 the top shelf and half the door.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This refrigerator is great. It has great room inside the refrigerator and freezer. The ice bin is way too small. My refrigerators compressor went out and I replaced it with another LG but 29 cubic foot refrigerator. I wish compressors were less expensive to fix because nothing else was wrong with the refrigerator. No broken pieces or anything else. It was in good condition!

Worked well the 5 first years only!!

Loved this fridge and all the features BUT, after only 5 years, the freezer stopped working. We will have to pay lots of money to get it repaired or buy a new fridge... what a waste!

I bought is more than 5 years ago and it worked well. It is leaking from the bottom now but it is still working!
