I upgraded from my eight year old stainless steel whirlpool fridge because my produce and deli meats seemed to be deteriorating rapidly. This LG is great. It has several specialized drawers that you can set for the type of food you're storing, and my rot problems are solved! I love the round, grape-sized ice cubes, and the water from the dispenser is perfectly filtered. We were able to cancel our monthly bottled water delivery as an added bonus. Only thing that I have to adjust perhaps is that when I open both doors they tend to close back on me a bit. Maybe just a small shim under the front feet will fix this. The freezer compartment drawers are great, and you can put a cookie sheet of fruit to freeze or a large frozen pizza no problem.

Great Refrigerator. We love it!

We replaced a fairly new side-by-side model with this refrigerator. The SxS was 2 cu. ft larger but had less usable space. You can fit SO much more food in both the refrigerator and freezer with a french door model. The door-in-door also gives you much more easily accessible food storage, and the ice maker, even though it has a much smaller storage capacity than or old one supplies plenty of ice for us. (We also keep a bag of ice in the freezer for parties and stuff just in case but so far, we haven't run out.)
About the only down side we've seen so far is that you can't remove the right side drawer for cleaning. I think we'll be able to reach around it if we need to.

Bad door and drawers design; spits water

Would be a perfect refrigerator, if not some major door design issues: Doors will not close completely when gently pushed, they will bounce back, leaving a small gap. The door-in-door needs to be slammed really hard to get closed. The door sensors are useless and will not alert when doors are not closed completely.
The right drawer cannot be open without opening both doors. The lower drawer will not come all the way out unless both doors are wide (more than 90 degrees) open.
Also it literally spits water, so that it goes all over the cup and out...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have been enjoying this unit since July. The ice and water in the door are perfect for keeping hydration going. I also enjoy the door in door feature for those items we use often.
I have been wanting a unit with the freezer on the bottom and this one is perfect for my needs. All of the refrigerated items are easy to see and reach ( I am short) and the freezer items don't fall out on me like they did in our previous unit.
My husband is quite pleased with our selection, too.
We have only one complaint: we cannot figure out how to remove the right hand vegetable/fruit drawer without taking off the right hand door. I haven't called tech support yet because we haven't actually needed to remove the drawer. We were just checking out all of the possible items that may need removal for thorough cleaning.

Great fridge w/just the right mix

I've had this for a bit now and the more I use it, the better I like it.
I was initially concerned about the ice maker as it seemed to have a very small bin. But even though I use lots of ice on these very hot summer days, I've not come close to running out. Great job and design.
The door within a door is wonderful. Keep some quick items there and it is just so handy. One thing that would have made it better was if it could hold a gallon of milk.
The bottom freezer is just fantastic. With the drawer at the top, and the divider on the bottom, it gives a good mix of places to put things so they don't get too buried.
Overall an excellent product and I can strongly recommend it for those looking for a new fridge!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this refrigerator about a month ago as part of a kitchen suite of appliances. We were initially drawn to the door in door feature that allows you to access drinks and other items without having to open the refrigerator door. Unit was easy to install and looks great. The closure mechanism on the door in door feature is a bit weak and requires a lot of pressure to latch. We have had the door alarm go off every day since we bought it to let us know the door was not completely closed.

Love My LG Door in Door

I totally love my LG Door in Door fridge. It is beautiful, runs extremely quietly (a big deal for me), and is nice and bright inside. I love the shelf that slides to make a half shelf - use it all the time as my grocery supply changes. I love the full width drawer - use it for beer and soda...perfect. I even like the little plastic piece at the bottom on the unit to keep dust and debris out from under the unit. All in all very thought out and well done. I'd buy it again.
