Cheap materials. Not recommended.

Bought this along with the matching dryer. Both failed within 2 years of purchase. The washer control buttons are cheap and push into the unit making them unusable. The unit does not start up when pressing "start." Diagnosis and repair costs about the same as a new unit.

A terrible buy

This washing machine came with a brand new condo we purchased. It has had fairly light use over a year and a half for a one adult and one child family. As it is no longer in warranty, after multiple A10 errors we have had it serviced several times, changing the water pump for a good amount of money. It is now giving the F07 error every time, which we understand means we have to change the motor, which costs a whole lot more. Buying a new unit as soon as this one started to break down would have been cheaper than fixing it. Look elsewhere.

Wears out pretty quickly

I’ve had to replace this washer twice in 8 years, which for the price is crazy. Not only that, I’ve had to have both the first and the replacement repaired during that time period, which cost even more money. Now my second one has stopped spinning fast enough to get the clothes dry enough to put in the dryer. I’m bummed because I have a space for the washer dryer that will fit very few models.

I bought this washer (and matching dryer) about 3 years ago, and we've had nothing but trouble. We don't even use the washer that much because it's in our vacation home (used lightly by two people, and never rented out). We've already spent over $500 on out of warranty repairs, and now we get an error code A10, which basically means we have to call another repair person. We're now replacing our barely used, 3 year old washer and dryer - with another brand.

Lots of problems, very hard to get answers

I have eight of these washers in rental apartments, ranging in age from 4 to 7 years old. Some have worked well but several have failed as described by others. Very often the machine stops during laundry without spinning or draining, no error code. During testing, all operations work perfectly through diagnostic cycles. So the individual operating modes work, but the controls can't reliably put them together to get a load of laundry done. Repair techs can't seem to fix the problems. Honestly I feel like Whirlpool needs to send us all replacement control boards with working software.

Lasts less than 3 years

I bought this product for sole-occupant condo. One user, less than 3 years old, and it's not completing cycles, with a repairman suggesting it might need a new latch and a new computer board, totaling basically the cost of the washer itself. One user, about 32 months of use, this is a very poor product.

Dodgy from day one

My machine worked fine for the first month and then we started getting error codes (mostly F22 and F30) EVERY TIME we start the machine. We are angry, frustrated and at our wits end. We are very put off Whirlpool appliances and will probably buy another brand. Save your money and buy anything else ...
