The heaters actually put out a considerable amount of heat. Putting them together was a little bit of an involved process. The one downfall is that the top shield is not super sturdy and when wind toppled our unit the top shield is not beyond use as it basically crumpled.

I enjoy these heaters. I grill all year round and I fire the heater off at the same time as my BBQ. Can stay warm while cooking. Plus I've taken to the fair grounds for our annual wine festival and Christmas tree lighting and the people gather around and enjoy heat.

Setup was easy. Doesn't include a sand base, but seems very sturdy and not top heavy once tank is installed.
Lit it, and the heat felt wonderful on a 50° night in Los Angeles.

Bought two for our deck and they work great and kick out a lot of heat. The one issue, which is minor, is they both don't quite stand perfectly straight.
