I bought the new air portable ac/heater last spring and used it all thru last summer...the one unit was ample to keep my entire condo super cool and its wonderful size had made it easy to store when not in use!!! Love it and would highly recommend this brand to anyone!! I'm a HAPPY customer!!

Excellent AC/Heat unit!

I've been comparing these units for awhile, trying to figure out which one would be best for me. My Brother-In-Law uses 3 other brands that are 10,000btu and 11,000btu, but they are loud and have other issues with drainage and efficiency. I decided to try this one, and have been very impressed. It's much quieter than the others that I've seen used, and puts out much better airflow. I'm very happy with this unit and would highly recommend it!
I started shopping for a 14,000 btu portable ac And came across the newair and chose it because it had the highest actual btu rating and great quality reviews and couldn't be happier. Was easy set up and Runs quiet and cools my room in 10-15 minutes. I would recommend this ac and any of the Newair products

Cold and quiet

I bought this unit last summer during one of the California heat waves. It blows ice cold air and runs very quietly.

So, this model is a replacement unit for the one I returned. It's even an upgrade from the non-heater model it replaced. It's still a lemon. I let it sit for three days before setting it up, to let the coolant settle and rest. From the moment I plugged it in, it started to howl. Not just the loudness of operation, but the fan or some mechanism HOWLED. It still sounds like a jet engine. Level ground, full water tank, clean filters and all. It still sounds like it's having mechanical problems. It's ridiculous. And that's on the LOWEST speed. I tried it with fan only, still the same. When the compressor or heater operate, i can't sit within 10 feet of it or it hurts my ears. It's that loud. That means I can't even sit in half of my living room. The heater is a joke. It is highly inefficient. And, like i mentioned, it's the second lemon in a row. I've had it for less than 3 months. The only reason I'm using it now is as a stop-gap to find a better unit, then out it goes. And because of the pandemic, I can't buy another unit right now, and probably not for a while. I'm stuck with it - or nothing, which sucks. This unit is garbage, especially for the amount they charge for it. Stay away from it. Seriously, save yourself the trouble of having to ship multiple units to, by chance, get one that works without problems. Quality control is non-existent. I've been in regular contact with customer service, and honestly, this is a logistical and time-consuming nightmare. Customer service has been attentive and accommodating, but this has been an ordeal. And good customer service is not a substitute for an actual working unit. I am not going to bother sending it back, because it's such a pain to, for a third time, re-pack and haul a 70lb unit down two flights of stairs and two additional blocks away to a FedEx location. I'm just done. I gave it an honest try, but with only one unit that worked, out of the two models and 3 other units I've had to return, nah. Not worth it. Too many problems.
