I have now used this camera for about a year, and I have taken about four thousand pics in this year. It went with me to Mayan ruins, whale shark dives, and most importantly, all of my daughter's wedding festivities. It's got a great telefoto lens, wonderful clarity, quick response., and many other features. In fact, our wedding photographer attended the rehearsal (without his super equipment as he was a guest) but he borrowed my camera and took shots that rival a professional's. It takes a bit to get used to putting up the face thing to shoot w/ flash, so strangers grabbing the camera have problems. Honestly, the pricey Canon SLR (a fam member has one) can compete with this one. Only one down side...it eats batteries since the screen resolution is so deep and large. Love, love, love it!
Pros: Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, easy to use
Cons: Short battery life

I bought this camera in April 2009, and have taken more than 6,000 photos with it already! It is VERY easy to use, and takes wonderful photos. Many people have complimented the photos I've taken, and believe me, I'm not that talented!
The one down side is the batteries. This camera eats them quickly. I was using rechargeable ones, but they seemed to be dead so quickly, so now I'm buying lithium AA batteries for it, and these last so much longer.
It isn't bulky per se, but it isn't one that could easily be hidden. It's a bit bulkier compared to other cameras, but the quality of the photos is worth it! And of course, it's still a small enough size so it's easy to take with you on the go.
Pros: Good Low-Light Performance, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, easy to use
Cons: Short battery life

I highly recommend this camera to anyone from the novice to exeperienced enthusiast to the professional who'd want something small to carry around. It's awesome! Great pics and very easy to use. If you're used to the Power Shot cameras, then this one will not disappoint! The increased optical zoom will give you splendid pictures with minimal ease! I have the Canon S5 IS, as well. I got this camera because of its amazing ease and portability. It is a real point and shoot! Canon comes thru, again! My Dad raised me with Rolleiflex and Leica and Zeiss Ikontas. All of them great cameras... but, there is a lot to say about the modern digital cameras of today. And my camera of choice is Canon and has been for the past ten years. I, also, know that my next digital camera will be a Canon, as well! The pictures I've taken prove how good the Power Shots are each and every time!!! Have fun and enjoy making memories with this great camera! :o)
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, durable
Cons: Short battery life

Powershot SX110 First Impression

I researched brands and model to decide on this camera. It was worth the effort. I wanted the full manual control of a DSLR but did not want the hassle or expense of alot of equipment.
Despite the pricng difference, it was a toss-up between the SX110 an the G10 as I would gladly give up some zoom for a few more mega-pixels, but I really prefer the universal AA battery to a specialized one.
This camera gives me what I want in a reasonable form factor. (it fits in the same bag as my old camera)
The initial images I have shot have been fantastic. Zoomed resolution is sharp and clear and the Macro mode delivers amazing images as well. AS a long-time 35mm camera user I am anxious to test the flexibility of the manual controls further. I feel like I finally came back to being a photographer.
Cons: there are some features/modes i will never use

Love this camera

This was my first step up to a multifunction digital camera. I had used a very inexpensive one for some time not much bigger than a dey chain. and decided to go for more features. This camera is amazing. I started slow and just kept using features one at a time. I am very impressed with the total zoom you can get with this camera. The movie feature is very easyto use. I have learned a lot and the more I use this camera the more I love it. The batteries last. I use good rechargable ones and always carry 2 extra but usually do not need them. I have been taking pictures in a large format from some distance and love the quality. If the camera settings are in a lower format the batteries last an amazingly long time. Using the flash does use up batteries faster but taking pictures for a school event indoors and using the flash for all I am still getting great battery life. The software is great and easy to use. I did upgrade to a larger media card. I use the one that came with it to download shots on for special printing or taking over to my daughters. Overall this camera is a dream.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable, great movies

It certainly takes awsome pictures. WOW. But it does eat batteries. Make sure you by rechargable batteries for your camera to save $. Another thing is that it sometimes take blurry images, just make sure the flash is raised, you are on the right setting, and READ THE INSTRUCTION MANUAL. Overall GREAT CAMERA Also takes awsome night pictures. Buy a camera cass. It can get a little bulky.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, durable
Cons: Short battery life

Best camera i've ever owned. I was able to zoom in on a Robin walking across the lawn 75 yards away and the details were amazing. Even captured the worm it had in its beak. Did the same with a Silver Fox that was just about 150 yards away. You could clearly see the colors and fur of the fox. You'll really love this camera. Buy the battery kit too.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, durable
