A great compromise

I love using DSLR cameras, but hate carrying them around when I travel. I love the manual exposure setting on this camera-it makes it so much easier to get quality exposures the first time. Image quality is great, the 10x zoom is unique in a camera this inexpensive. The LCD display is the same size as my DSLR, and really bright and easy to see. Only con is that the door where the batteries and SD card are stored seems cheap like it would break easily. A lot of people have commented how it eats batteries. I bought some of the really expensive AAs designed for cameras, and I've taken at least 900 pictures on one pair. Those things really saved me a lot of money if the cheap batteries last as long as everyone says do.
Pros: easy to use, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life
Cons: Flimsy Construction

I needed a camera that ran on AAs, had manual controls, a larger zoom, and was still small. This was a perfect choice. It is a bit larger than other point and shoots on the market but it still fits into my pocket. I have around 2000 shots with all different lighting conditions and this camera is an excellent all around choice. I am very impressed with how easy the controls are. As most of the settings are self explanatory, I would suggest playing around and trying different settings then consulting the manual for specific points.
I tried using regular AAs and as other reviewers have stated, it eats through them quickly. Go out and buy a set of photo AAs and you will be amazed. I went from about 100 photos per set to 450+.
My only complaint for this camera is that it does not support RAW. I would highly recommend this camera for anyone who wants a compact with professional features.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable, price
Cons: Missing features/settings

High-Quality "On-the-go" Camera
on May 6, 2009

This is a great camera for on-the-go shooting. It has high-performance without all the bulky lenses and equipment of pro-cameras. AMAZING optical zoom. Perfect for concerts and sporting events that prohibit professional cameras. ;^) The manual settings are easy to use and make low-light shooting a breeze. There's even a manual focus. ~AND~ The video setting is a blast on vacation. It's not high-res, but it's fine for computer viewing. The only bad thing is the same old problem as always -- battery life. That huge, gorgeous LCD screen really taps the batteries.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, durable
Cons: Short battery life

I bought this camera when in another city setting up a store and wanted a new digital camera. I've taken alot of upclose shot as well as distant shots. I became highly impressed with it at a drag race last weekend and caught clear shots of cars doing atleast 180 mph past us. I shake some, so the "auto" option works great for me when getting clear pics. I would recommend this camera to anyone looking to get a new digital camera.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life

This camera, for beginners or not, its easy to work with. The zoom is beyond phenominal. You can zoom up to things that make it look like your right there with the action. I take a lot of photos, especially when its old antiques, drag, etc.. and the quality is amazing. This camera is perfect for anyone, whether this would be your first camera or not. I highly recommend this camera to anyone and everyone. And for the price, its definately worth your while. Ill never regret buying this camera. I love Canon. And when it comes to the batteries, buy Lithium because they last way longer
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance
Cons: Short battery life

If you want to buy a camera, but don't want either a simple point and shoot, or have to lug around an SLR, then this is definitely the camera for you. Tons of features packed into this little badboy, and you will have the time of your life.

EXCELLENT!

I can only find one thing that I am unhappy with, that Canon didn't include in this camera - an optical viewfinder! Otherwise it has everything I wanted, good battery life, pretty good low light picti\ures, very good movies, small enough to fit my shirt pocket, very sharp pictures even when used with a small amount of digital zoom and enough built in options to cover just about every kind of picture I have tried. Put an optical viewfinder on it for bright outdoor pictures and it would be practically perfect.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable
Cons: no optical viewfinder

this is my 3rd camera purchase in about 3 wks. i have been trying to find one with good zoom and a fast flash and snapshot time. so far the only complaint i have is the flash firing time. it takes way to long to flash and recycle to take another picture. pictures are good and crisp. if there is a setting or something that can make the flash faster someone let me know. thanks
Pros: easy to use, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, durable
Cons: Short battery life
