PowerShot SX110 IS

No matter how many good points this camera has, they are all overshadowed by the very short battery life.
This camera is unacceptable.
Even the rechargeable batteries last no longer than the conventional ones. I am very surprised Canon put this camera on the market, and has not yet pulled it.
I also own a Canon 40D, and never worry about the battery. With the SX110 IS, it is a constant struggle to keep up with the batteries.
Cons: Short battery life
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Best and easiest camera ever owned

The SX110IS Cannon 10X Zoom produces the best quality pictures I have ever seen. It is so easy to use all the functions, the size and so easy to download to my computer. The 10x zoom really brings my grandson up close for excellent pictures. I had the oportunity to attend my great nieces wedding on the beach in San Destin Beach, Forida, and the pictures I took with the Cannon SX110IS was chosen over the paid photogher's to use in the wedding album. The beach and the sunset pictures I took during the wedding were beautiful.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable

No Win 2000 Drivers

Camera seems great so far, as long as you don't mind changing the batteries twice per day. BEWARE Canon does not offer a win 2000 driver! My old canon worked on win 2000 with the same software, earlier version, but this camera requires Win XP or Vista. I thought I was upgrading my camera. Now I have to upgrade my computer too? BEWARE! Canon should offer a win 2000 driver.

I'm so dissapointed with the battery life that I don't use the camera at all now. My camera will only take about 25 pictures before the batteries die. That gets expensive!
Pros: easy to use, excellent image quality
Cons: Short battery life

very disappointed

Had a Canon a520 which is probably the best camera I have ever had. I as all excited with the purchase of the sx110 is but while on vacation found out that I should have brought battery charger also. Forty pictures then change batteries is a terrible way to enjoy a camera. Have returned the camera and now have a sd790 is and hopefully this will be a more enjoyable camera. If not will return it and purchase another brand.
Cons: Difficult to use, Poor Low-Light Performance, Heavy/Bulky, Short battery life

Wouldn't Buy Again

I have been a Canon fan since my first 35mm A1. I have owned this camera for about a year now. Was excited at first based on features, especially the extended zoom. However this camera has been a disappointment. Very difficult to focus, all pictures seem to be fuzzy. Finally gave up on the camera and bought a SX200IS-great camera. Have gone back to the SX110IS once or twice during the year - same results- bad pics, hard to focus, always losing my shots.

Great Camera

This is the second digital camera I have ever purchased...the first, another brand, 10 years ago. The two deciding factors were 1) that it does use replaceable batteries and 2) the 10X optical zoom.
I have used this camera only a couple of times, and purchased it as a still camera rather than a total still and video model. The image dissapears when the camera is turned to the vertical position, ie. to take a picture of a tall object.
Pros: easy to use, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance
Cons: Heavy/Bulky, Short battery life
