Very nice

Is not a beginers camera but works very well and picture quailty is great. It is a little awkard to show a new user how to judge w/ out a normal view finder, yet once you get the techniquic down then a normal view finder seems out dated. Even witth the auto feature action pictures should shoot nice but if you know your way around or read through the manual the seem effortless. Good buy if your into photography and not just point and click.
Pros: Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, durable
Cons: Missing features/settings, Heavy/Bulky, flash could be brighter

Fabulous for Novices

I purchased the PowerShot SX110 IS as a gift for myself last year, for I wasn't capturing enough of life's beautiful moments. I was new to photo taking, but I saddled up and took my camera every where I went. Canon is exceptional. The picture quality is in a class all it's own, which makes any artistic editing I apply on my Mac...not only enjoyable but worthy of being mounted. I'm a novice, but you'd never know it. I will say, that a photo is only as good as it's photographer..., but the right camera helps without a doubt. The PowerShot is a great starter camera. I will admit that the battery life is not so grand. But it pales in comparison with all the other great feautures and capabilties. The multiple shots feature and the video option are wonderful. I've been hired for a wedding, family portraits, holiday cards and the illustrations of a book...all with my PowerShot! I will be upgrading to the RebeI 40D from the PowerShot, for professionally, my career is taking off; but the PowerShot will always be my No. 1. I highly recommend this camera.
Pros: easy to use, excellent image quality, Lightweight/Portable, durable
Cons: Short battery life

Great Camera for a Great Price

I bought this camera for myself and I love it. It's easy to use and the picture quality is great. I've been using it to photograph mostly flowers, dogs, birds, bees in macro and auto. Almost every shot comes out great, when the shots aren't great it's usually user error. The only drawback I've found is there is not a view finder, I personally don't find this to be a major issue.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, durable
Cons: could use a view finder, underwater mode would be nice

I previously had kodak before I got this one, and the kodak is for the beginner and doesnt have many features. This camera has many more options. Just be sure you read the instructions so you can take advantage of all the options!
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, durable
Cons: Heavy/Bulky, Short battery life

Great Camera

First of all I haven't used a camera in years. My experience level is zero. I purchased this camera yesterday. Having said that I love this camera. Great bright LCD screen. I took it out of the box, put the batteries in and started taking pictures and shooting video! Some of the other reviews say the zoom doesn't work when shooting video but it does. Not sure why they said that. The reviews were confusing to me becuase of this. Before I bought this camera I bought the SX200IS. Was not impressed. I thought it was way over priced for what it does, but that could be due my level of experience. Maybe that camera was too advanced for me. I did not like the LCD screen on it - it was not very clear and it smudged very easy, right away it was smudged and I could not get it clean. The screen on the SX110IS I like it much better and it is not smiudged yet at all. I like being able to have extra batteries not having to worry if I have a charged battery. I am very happy with this camera so far.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, zoom works while shooting video, lcd screen does not smudge
