The blade is to thin to carve a turkey. My old Cuisinart knife worked fine. The blades that came withe the knife allowed turkey to get between the two blades. I had to stop and clean turkey out from between the blades several times. My old knife had two blades and this knife only had one.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We have just purchased another CEK 40 electric knife for our second home after owning the same model in our main home. We love it. Be sure to get this model as the other model (which includes a fork instead of a second set of blades) is much more uncomfortable to grip if you have small hands. The CEK 40 is much easier to use and I love having a blade for breads and a different blade for meats. Much better!!

I received this as a Christmas gift. I’ve only used it once for the Christmas ham. It had a hard time cutting the outside of the ham and it almost seemed to shred the meat at one point. Although it came with 4 serated knives I wished it would have had the non serated with it too.

My unit comes with two sets of blades and a wood stand. The knife is fantastic! One set of blades makes slicing meats, vegies etc a breeze. While the other set cuts breads without crushing. I've had several electric knives before, but none compare in looks, sharpness, ease-of-use, durability and long warranty!

I received this as a Christmas gift and love that it's sturdier than any electric knife I've ever used. However, inserting the 2 blades at the same time per instructions dooesn't work. Maybe there's something wrong with mine, but fortunately inserting the blades 1 at a time solves the problem, though it's a little awkward. It has a handy board for displaying the knives on the counter top.
