This is the second Cuisinart coffee maker of this type I've owned that grinds the beans and makes the coffee in a thermal coffee pot. This model has improvements over my first Cuisinart making it easier to make coffee and to wash and maintain. My first pot was great and still works after a number of years that I've had it. This new pot though is so much more easier to use.

I like to brew with freshly ground beans for a more flavorful cup of joe. This coffee maker accomplishes this in one appliance. It does require a little more cleaning, which in turn requires some disassembly. This is not too complicated, but I do think a mechanically inclined person would be happier with this.

I love this product! Very convenient during the week when everything is constantly on the go. Only down side I'd have to mention is that you have to put the EXACT amount of water in it. Usually you are able to put a lot of beans and a lot of water into a coffee maker and it will just take what it needs for the setting you have it om, but if you over fill this with water, it will use all the water. Learned that the hard way with very watery cup of coffee my first few tries. Lol

I purchased the Cuisinart - Burr Grind & Brew Thermal™ 12 Cup Automatic Coffeemaker a few months ago. I love that it brews and grinds, however, it leaks from the carafe when I pour the coffee and the coffee is not hot enough.
