This is my second one of these. LOVED the first one but the grinder died soon after the warranty did. Disappointed but, because I enjoy the features ofthis design - I ordered a replacement. Hope this one lasts longer.

I liked the convenience of the grinder on top and the metal carafe keeps the coffee hot.
One thing that does pose a problem is the height of the coffeemaker. It does not fit under wall cabinets in the kitchen. It is taller than other coffeemakers. Fortunately we just redid our kitchen and I made sure there was an area where it could sit. That is why I only gave it 4 stars.

I have been a long term user of Cuisinart coffeemakers. I switched to a couple of more costly units, but always came back to Cuisnart. Units are reliable, make a good cup of coffee. Did not think I would like the metal carafe, but it works great and adds to the reliability of the unit. Years ago I started off with the blade grind and really like the burr grind. The hopper is nice because it is large enough to allow me to be lazy for a couple of days, yet keeps the beans fresh.

I was very disappointed when my grind and brew broke after four years. I had hoped for more years of service. I looked around and decided to get another grind and brew. The ground coffee shoot needs to be cleaned every half pound of coffee. I found that the new model had a different material in the shoot that clogs less. Otherwise, I works like the old one. Hoping for more than four years this time.
