The machine is great, but the carafe is not. Very hard to get all the coffee out and almost inevitable that some will be spilt. The other huge negative is the fact you can't set how much water is used, however much is in the tank as how much will be used.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Bought as a replacement after 10 years of great daily service from the previous identical coffee-maker (after several years from the one before that!). Now it seems that this is the only grind & brew filter machine on the market (I don't like the home expresso or pod machines, but if you have good beans this is excellent coffee). Disappointed that there has been no redesign of the jug whose lid/spout makes it v difficult to get the last cup out. Also disappointed that there was no brush (the feed has to be cleared after each brew) or spare water filter - both had been supplied with the previous machines. But still makes very good coffee.

Dear Frank,
Thank you so much for your feedback, we are delighted to hear that you are happy with your recently purchased Professional Grind & Brew Plus.
We would recommend when trying to get the last small bit of coffee out of the jug, that you remove the lid which will also help get that out easier for you.
I will arrange for someone to contact you direct regarding a spare filter for you also.
We hope you enjoy your Cuisinart appliance and please never hesitate to call us if you need any future assistance.

I think it uses more beans than the one with a removable grinder . But it makes very good coffee . We use an Italian roast and only have it on the mild setting which is more than strong enough. Very sturdy way to keep clean .
