Perfect Starter DSLR

If you're thinking about testing the DSLR waters, then this camera is perfect. As its a consumer DSLR, it still has the auto modes like Portrait, Landscape and Full Auto but since it also has the creative modes and the ability to slap on a lens to see what the difference is between this and a Point & Shoot, it lets you explore options. If you hear abut cropped vs. full. the cropped frame is something you don't need to worry about, especially if you just want sharper photos and are on a budget. In fact, this camera may end up helping you understand the difference between P&S, cropped and full frame cameras. The body is light, even with a battery grip but don't expect to go dancing with it around your neck, it's still bigger than a P&S. If you're looking to learn about cameras, lenses and just what makes images stand out, then invest in this. You'll start small but you'll be thinking and saving especially if all you want is an upgrade from a P&S. My only gripe is that it can be a bit noisy when it takes a picture, but when snapping dozens of shots, you will not notice.

I love this camera. I have always wanted a good quality camera. The capability to use different gives more possibilties for different shots. I don't know much about photography and I am still able to get really nice shots. This camera works well for the novice and professional alike. Well worth the money.

excellent value for the money

This is my first second dSLR and is a vast improvemment over my old Sony. To really take advantage of this camera, get a telephot zoom lens along with the standard zoom that comes with the kit. It takes beautiful photos, is easy to use and is a pleasure to work with.
It has more features than a novice photographer will use, but allows one to grow into the camera. I do suggest buying one of the several books out there about the camera as they will help understand everything the Rebel xs can do.
I recommend it highly.

Graduation Gift to Myself

I purchased this camera about 18 months ago after graduating college. I and this camera have taken over 1000 pictures. Not evrey picture is perfect but with the aid of the online resources provided by Canon my ability to take good to excellent pictures has improved.
I would and have recommended this camera to several of my friends for its ease of use advanced features and online support provided by the professionals at Canon.
Overall great experience.

This camera is great. It has so many great features. It is my first Digital SLR and I love it. I recomened this camera to anyone who wants a Digital SLR but dosen't want to break the bank. The owners manual is very helpful.

Good Beginner's camera

Just got back into photography and I love it! Have taken pictures in all environments--city pics, sports, people and it's been great for all. A little pricy, but am very pleased.
It will last me a lifetime. Easy to handle and like the auto-focus feature the best. Never a bad picture.
