First time buying a SLR.

This is my first SLR purchase and I am glad the I chose Canon. I did my research as well as spoke with friends who are really into to cameras and photography and I chose the Rebel XS because it was just as much as all the other camera brands but it has the quality and popularity of Canon. It takes excellent photos and menu options and controls were easily learned. I have already purchased the 55mm-250mm EF-S IS lens and the combination of the two makes photography even more fun with much more excellent pictures!
Pros: everything
Cons: havn't found one.

I am a newbie when it comes to DSLRs. I have owned a couple of different point and shoot cameras and have a 35mm film camera that I still use.
For not having read the manual yet, this camera is relatively easy to use and takes great pictures with little to no effort. It is quiet and fast focusing and does what I need it to do. Regardless of the size of the media that I choose to use, I prefer to run my camera at the maximum image resolution and quality so I get the highest quality pictures that I possibly can.
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, easy to use
Cons: high cost

I Bought this camera to take with me backpacking in Alaska. Performed amazingly well. Worked in every condition, always performing better than i had expected. I own multiple Canon Products and am always happy with the quality. It has survived a lot of abuse, and continues to amaze. I would suggest purchasing a lens with it. The factory provided lens is good but if you want to really have control you need a different lens. Could not be happier.
Pros: good battery life, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable

This is my first Canon, and I was pleasantly surprised. It is a simple easy to use camera right out of the box. I was taking pictures before I read the manual. It has a really solid construction. The controls are easy to use and understand even for the first time user, but you have all the features even a Pro would want. Photographs are bright, clear and sharp. I love this camera.
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use

After waiting for years to buy a real digital camera the day finally arrived and so did my new camera. I love it easy to use, lots of buttons all around a great edition to my 35mm EOS rebel. However the original digital camera a 3.5 megapixal pocket camera from another manufacturer quickly went into the trash for permanate retirement. RIP you did well for the time we spent together.
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use

This is truly the best camera purchase I have ever made. The day after I bought it, I went to a Boston Red Sox game and shot 200 pictures. The ease of use as well as picture clarity and quality make the Rebel XS "second to none".
Pros: excellent image quality, Simple controls/menu, quiet, Quick Start-up time, Solid Operation, easy to use, Lightweight/Portable

I got the XS as a gift from my parents, probably because I've been pestering them for a while to see if I could buy one, last christmas and for the week or two that I have used this camera I can say that it's a great camera for beginning photographers such as myself. I'm mainly a portrait photographer and when I take pictures of my friends or family, their hair always comes out with a nice saturation, skin complexion is always very smooth and creamy looking. So far I would this camera a 4.9 out of 5.
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, easy to use
Cons: Complicated controls/menu
