Awesome DSLR

For two years I have been working two high-end point and shoots and finally decided to take the leap into DSLR's to further my hobby. Originally I was going to get the T2I but we decided to buy a restaurant so I had to go the budget rout and get the most for my money so I ended up with with this Rebel xs ef-s 18-55 is kit along with the canon ef 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III lens and I have to say it was well worth the money period.
It works flawlessly, takes amazing photos every time and has enough features for me to take my photography interest to the next level. For a DSLR beginner like myself this camera ROCKS! and I can't thank you enough Canon. Would I recommend this to other? You bet I would!!!
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: noisy

I bought this camera in December 2010, so far it has produced clear quality pictures. I really like the sports feature, my daughter cheers on a competition team and I can capture every jump & dance move. I also like the fact that it is very lightweight to carry around. I still need to brush up on some of the extra features, but its really not a difficult camera to learn. I'm very happy with my purchase.
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, easy to use

This is a starter camera. I took my 1-year old daughter to the park and snapped some pictures. When I first saw them on the display screen I thought nothing special of them but after I uploaded them and put some on Facebook the comments began to pour in. My wife asked me how could I possilbly take pictures like that. She thought maybe I had taken a class in college or something- I told her nope its the new camera. She loves it and therefore I love it. I think the scree could use some more light but thats my only complaint. Great Camera!
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use, best value
Cons: Dim LCD

Very happy I chose Canon

I purchased this camera because my son has a Rebel XTi, and has been pleased with his. I have to say I have been thrilled with my camera...it is easy to use for beginners, but has many features for more advanced users as well. The photos are sharp and beautiful. I had a problem with my kit lens, and Canon's service was fast and excellent. If I ever decide to purchase another DSLR, it will definitely be a Canon.
Pros: Superior build quality, excellent image quality, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, easy to use, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life

This is the best camera I've ever had. The only con is that the lens is very very very short ranged. Upgrading the lens would be the second best purchase, next to the actual camera. I've had so much fun and great pictures with this camera so far, get one. You will NOT be disappointed.
Pros: Superior build quality, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, Solid Operation, easy to use, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life
Cons: noisy

Very Good Camera - Excellent Quality

Very Good Camera for the money. I purchased a package with the 18-55mm and the 70-300mm lenses. The anti-shake 18-55mm lens is excellent. All the lenses should have antishake. I could take indoor photos without flash with no problem...ever. I just wish the 70-300 lens that I got had the anti-shake.
Pros-
The menu options and settings are very easy to use and navigate. No complications, except for the 'custom function' settings were kind of hard to get at first.
The higher ISO settings had very little, to none distortion or noise. taking pictures inside in low light without using the flash, camera wanted to use ISO800 automatically, and it looked perfect. After adding some noise reduction in the Canon photo editing software I could eliminate any and all noise.
I really like the fast autofocus. I upgraded to this camera from a long zoom point and shoot that was about 4 years old. BIG difference. NO comparison.
Cons-
The only thing that I would like to have is timelapse capability. I know if you hook the camera up to my computer and open the live view program that came with the software, I can setup timelapse, But I have yet to find it in the camera itself.
The only other thing I have against it is the body. It seems like the body could scratch easily. I just feel that I have to be really careful not to damage it. Some of the other cameras felt like they could take a bump or two, without doing anything to them. I will probably get an LCD protector for the screen.
The last thing is, I wish it had multiple memory card capability. I know some of the other brands of cameras have 2 or 3 different card slots. This just has SD, which is good and Cheap.
Very good Camera for a moderate to advanced user.
Pros: good battery life, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: Missing features/settings

Great for beginners

This is the first DSLR experience for me, so consider myself a beginner. Has many features that I am still getting used to and learning how to manuver, but so far has done all that I have asked it to do and more.
Picture clarity and color is great as long as you take in the correct modes. A bit of playing around has allowed me to find that out.
Buttons seems to be easily accessible, menu is a bit bulky and will take some getting used to, but that will take time.
Bought with 75-300mm lens and seems to be all I will need until I have a chance to get outside and take some nature pictures.
Night or low light shots seem to be a bit cumbersome.
Wish the viewfinder actually showed the pictures it took, pictures seem to be bette than it shows. I have actually deleted a few that looked bad and as I previewed online, the ones I thought were bad, actually looked good online.
Battery life seems to be good so far, taken about 500-600 pictures with and without flash and have not had to recharge battery yet.
Overall, has been a great beginning. Ill write more in six or twelve months.
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use

Finally back with an SLR!

I'll try not to be verbose. I have an old Canon T70 SLR camera that I bought in 1984. I really liked the idea that I could change lenses, do timed exposures, fiddle with f-stop settings for different effects, or I could let the camera do it all automatically.
I am already impressed with the photo quality so far. I had been using an 8MP point-and-shoot camera for a couple of years (having used these types of digitals since 1999), and while the photo quality seemed good to me, I just didn't know what I was missing.
I have been happy with this camera since I took it out of the box. It has that familiar feel of an SLR, even though it is a bit larger. And I think that once I get used to what the camera can be programmed to do (lots more than my older Canon could do), it will become comfortable like an old friend.
The only con I have is that the lenses I had for my other camera won't fit this one. That's ok. I can start off slow as I did before. It's not a design flaw with this camera. I just bought my other camera before the EOS models come on the market.
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
