Best Camera Ever!!!

I have taken photography for two years at school but I only used my cell phone camera! Well I got tired of that because I love photography. So I looked on Craigslist for a decent Digital SLR camera. And lo and behold I found this baby. That was three weeks ago but I am still learning about it. i named it Rhonda actually. Anyway, it has many great features; 10.1 megapixel, manual setting features, and simplicity! The pictures turn out great and it has an awesome long lasting battery! If you want to get your first SLR camera, I would recommend this to you. Or even a seasoned pro would enjoy this too.

Good for when I was 11

Got this camera as my first SLR when I was 11, it is a fantastic camera if you are just starting out and if you are on a budget. The general features(aperture, ISO, shutter speed) are good when there is enough light because using the high ISO results in a very noisy picture. The shutter speed is good but I was never able to use the 1/4000 because it would always end up being too dark. I also found myself wishing it had more mega-pixels. But, I was at the time very very happy with this camera but I am very serious about photography now and planning on upgrading(I'm 15 now) and the camera has lasted that long. :) So great buy if you are a beginner, I highly recommend it to anyone who wishes to make the move from point-and-shoots to SLRs :)
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use, great to start out with
Cons: noisy, low megapixels, no background blur

Have been taking photos of the new grandbaby! I'm able to see right away if it's good or not. Have a nice 35 mm film camera but trying to come up to speed in the digital world. I like the features of the camera. I expect to take even better photos as I experiment and practice with my Canon.
Pros: quiet, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, easy to use

Great Camera!

I recently purchased this camera in hope that I would finally be able to shoot decent photos. I was not disappointed! The Rebel XS is a great amateur camera. The camera is very fast and precise. I normally just leave the camera in full auto although i occasionally venture into the manual functions. I was a little disappointed that you can not use the live-view feature in full auto. Other than that the camera is perfect!
Pros: fast, build quality, nice flash, full of useful features, live-view
Cons: no live-view in full auto

Nice Amatuer Camera

I really like using this camera. I'd recommend it as a starter camera, as i am one myself. The image quality is excellent, the featues you can do is also good. It's a bit pricey for a starter though and in some places, the shutter takes a long time to take one picture. But overall, I like it.
