A Super DSLR camera!!

I purchased this camera two months ago and have taken about 500 shots with it so far. Its almost impossible to take a bad picture with this camera! Focusing is fast and accurate, metering is dead-on and the controls are very user-friendly!
Unlike some other reviews I found the build quality to be excellent even though the camera feels very light in your hands. Also the kit lens turned out to be a lot better than I thought it would.
All dials and controls have a smooth crisp feel to them and the feature set is just right for an entry level DSLR.
With recent price reductions buying this camera kit is a no-brainer!
Pros: Superior build quality, excellent image quality, Nice features/settings, Solid Operation, easy to use, Lightweight/Portable
Cons: Missing features/settings
I would recommend this to a friend!

Wonderful Entry-Level DSLR

This is my first digital SLR camera, and I could not be happier with it. I did a lot of research into the camera before deciding to buy it.
The first thing I noticed when taking it out of the package was how light it was. I would not say it feels cheap, but the body is very light, even with the lens attached. The LCD screen is bright and crystal clear. The menu system is very easy to navigate, though sometimes you have to scroll all the way up/down to travel between columns instead of just pressing left/right. That is a minor annoyance, but something I can look past.
Formatting the SD card was a breeze. It took about 10 seconds, if my memory serves me correctly.
The picture quality is wonderful for an entry-level DSLR. They are bright, clear, and sharp, given that you select the proper settings.
The camera can be a little noisy when taking pictures, but, again, that is something that I can deal with. It is not a major problem for me.
One thing I was surprised with was that some of the pictures settings (monochrome, portrait, landscape, etc.) cannot be selected when shooting in fully automatic mode or any of the basic settings. I did not like that much.
Overall, though, I am very happy with my purchase. It is a great camera for such a good price.
Pros: excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, easy to use, Lightweight/Portable
Cons: Missing features/settings, noisy, some key features not available on basic settings

Great Camera

This Camera is a great overall starter camera. I'm a novice jumping into the D-SLR cameras and this one does it for me. In terms of Features it does loss out on the Spot metering and 9 point focus but it takes great photos without it. I would buy one anytime for a family member or friend.
Pros: excellent image quality, Solid Operation, easy to use, good battery life
Cons: Missing features/settings

Great Entry Level DSLR

Like many others, my experiance was mostly limited to point-and-pray cameras, so this is my first DSLR. It is simple enough for a beginer (my wife) to set on auto mode and take great pictures, yet has enough features for a more advanced user (me) to exercise more control for more spicific shots. Since it is an "entry level" DSLR it is not too intimidating with features or price to be adventurous with photo oppertunities. That being said, I wouldn't take it out in a hurricane to take picures, but I'm not too scared to take it out and try something new.
Pros: Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use

Great camera

I purchased this after my wife got my Rebel XT after the divorce. This camera blows away the XT in features and performance. The new live view and the use of super cheap SD memory cards is a welcome change. Great battery life as opposed to what some may say. I am able to take over 500 pictures on one charge with the flash and over 1000 without it. The kit lens is better than previous versions available but I have purchased some better glass and am amazed with the results.
Pros: excellent image quality, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, easy to use, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life
Cons: kit lens leaves a bit to be desired

I am happy

I have finally upgraded from a standard point and shoot! I am very happy with the quality and outcome of my photos. I find the menu and button system simple to use, and especially like the fact that I can simply point and shoot, or tinker around with more complex tasks. I think this is a great starter camera...
Pros: excellent image quality, Nice features/settings, easy to use
Cons: Heavy/Bulky

Best DSLR in its class

I bought this camera a year ago when i switched from a canon rebel film. I was also using a small canon power shot for a little while to get myself familiar. This camera has overcome every obstacle i have thrown at it. It has quick focusing, the metering systems are great. i use this camera for my work which i take sport events at my university. It has never let me down i have dropped it from about 6 feed once and it didn't hiccup. Someday i want to transition to the higher end DSLR's but this is a great camera to learn on and its super easy to learn and i am constantly finding new means of use. Absolutely love it!
Pros: Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, easy to use
Cons: n/a

Great for beginner

I have been using this camera to take pictures of my baby girl since the beginning of Nov 2010 and I have to say, this is a fine camera! I have only ever used point and shoot cameras before this one and that was the reason I went with such a simple DSLR. This camera has everything a beginner needs and if you are just taking pictures of your children, this one (or the T3) will be great! Just remember, the quality of picture has more to do with composition and the person pushing the button than it does with the camera. Once you learn how to "frame" your shot, this camera can produce amazing images. I would definitely recommend this camera (or the T3) to anyone getting started in photography.
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
