Fantastic results

Really good, detailed photos. As a test, we do our cats and look for fur, whiskers, sharpness. Most work is done for calendars or picture puzzles and anti-shake feature is a plus. The colors are spot-on.
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use

good beginner cameras

great camera for three and half years, took beautiful pictures and never had a problem till the mother board went out than I had a paper weight
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: Poor build quality

For the price the Rebel XS is a very good camera. I really don't have any complaints even though I use a 60D and a 20D. After I purchased the 60D I thought I would only use the XS for dangerous situations like the beach or parties but I find it hard to put down. For the dollars you spend I'm very pleased with this little DSLR!
Pros: light, easy to use, great in full auto, great in full manual, cost
Cons: low mega pixels

low light images

excelent camera , needed a camera that peforms in low light situations, camera has performed excellent, we being new to this, was at first a little intimidated but worked so well no need to worry, excellent image quality and ease of use. very satisfied.

I went from a point and shoot to this camera and was considering a higher MP point and shoot. GLAD I made this choice! I am still learning but this camera has so much to offer. One thing I found helpful is the software. I can view what focus point was in focus for a specific picture so that I can get better at wild life photos. Do I want background soft? Subject and background focused? Lets me see what I took and what works so I know what to go after next time. Can't say enough good things. Looking forward to taking that photo class that I have always wanted to take. GREAT camera and I wouldn't say easy because of all the options but once you play around for just a short time you are going to get really cool shots. Enjoy! Only con, it is a little noisy for up close shots of sleeping cats.

I am very happy with this camera. I did a lot of research and picked the Canon for its quality, ease of use and price. I am a first time digital SLR user and the XS has opened up a new world of photography for me.
You can't go wrong with the purchase of this camera.
Pros: excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Simple controls/menu, Quick Start-up time, easy to use, good battery life
Cons: no wireless shutter release

Love this camera

This product was recommended to me by a co-worker. I wanted to advance from a point and shoot camera and was getting frustrated by the shutter delay. I also wanted a better quality of photo. It was love at first shot. I love the clarity of the pictures and the shutter speed. I have recommended this camera to everyone I know.

Superb camera, Great Price

My husband purchased the set for me for Christmas this year. I own another digital camera, but wanted features that weren't on that camera. I absolutely love the ease of using this camera, and the many features of it compared to your normal digital. It takes series of pictures very quickly even if a flash is required. I am still learning the camera but already love it!
