This is my first proffesional camera ans i find it great. I think it has great quality and outstanding prefomance to it. It takes clear images. Its deffinatly worth the price. I would recomend it to anyone that would like to have a starter camera, this would be it.
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Simple controls/menu, easy to use

Great Camera for the Price

I bought it nearly a year ago and I'm impressed with it. I thought that having a DSLR camera was difficult to use and have to learn a lot. But with the Rebel XS it helped me achieve a lot of great quality pictures.
Pros: good battery life, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Solid Operation
Cons: Dim LCD

This is my SLR camera. My friend has a Nikon and she recommended me Canon because that is what her next purchase was. I love it. I love this camera. Its a little hard to use, but I am brand new at this so everything will be hard and new for me.

This camera is easy to use for first timers or seasoned veterans. With a very little instructional tour, this camera was ready to start using immediately. My wife wanted something simple, yet of good quality and we absolutely got both.

Great started dSLR. I can really only attribute any weaknesses to operator errors.

Overall Good Choice

I like the camera itself very much, if you don't research cameras and camera lingo (e.g. what the f-stop is, what ISO is) it may be a learning curve, but not to hard. Great lens that it comes with, sad that it's plastic, but oh well.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Canon is still the leader

I have been with Canon since 1984. I still have my Canon T50 35mm and I worry about 35 mm film going away. That camera was the best, and I will never part with it.
I now have a Canon Rebel XS and I have nothing but good to say about it over all. It is not noisy, in fact I like a camera that lets you know it is working. The only thing I really do not like is the rubber door for the computer cable hookup.
I would have liked it to be like the battery door , a good solid part of the camera with a positive open and close latch.
You have to pry the rubber cable door open and it's a distraction to me. Other than that, you can't go worng for what this camera offers in this price range.

This camera is a lot of fun to use. It's easy for beginners like myself. Has enough Auto settings that I can take great pics right out of the box. I am learning how to use the other features (which there are many) and I am having fun learning how to use them.
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, easy to use
