I have had this product for about three or four months now, certainly enough time to know whether or not I think it is something that I would recommend. The short answer is yes, I definitely recommend it. I previously had another competing product that I thought was pretty good, but I read some reviews and decided to try the Phillips Sonicare. I believe that it definitely cleans better than my previous brand. There are a couple of things I would change in the design to improve on the overall product. First, I would make the head smaller to better fit in the mouth, especially on the inside of the teeth. I seem to constantly be coming in contact with the plastic sides of the brush and at the rate it vibrates it is distracting. Second I would change the way the timer works, so that if at the end of your two minutes you wanted to continue brushing, you could do so without having to re-start it.
Pros: good feel to the overall brush.
Cons: head a little large-should be round.

For the price of this package you can't beat it. Its extremely powerful and love the options on it between the 2 cleans. Love how it guides you while you brush your teeth telling you when to change positions of it while you brush and then shuts down after your complete with the brushing highly recommend this toothbrush to every one. Comes with handy carrying case so that you can travel with brush whils its secure in its case.
Pros: case, 2 cleaning modes, powerful, let's you know when to move
Cons: none

I have used a sonicare toothbrush for about 13 years, this was a replacement toothbrush for the same model purchased 12 years ago. I love it and will use this type toothbrush ongoing, it makes my teeth feel so clean. I would recommend this model highly.

Internal linkage self destructs

I'm extremely disappointed and frustrated. They do not last, though they clean satisfactorily. I have owned two. Both lasted just over the warranty period. Both failed due to internal linkage breaking resulting in a functioning battery, motor and switch, but no movement of the brush head. I thought the first break was due to tapping the brush head on a towel after brushing, so I babied the second one. The second one lasted the same period of time, and self-destructed just after the warranty period. You have a quality problem. I have friends with lower end models that have lasted for years. I won't be buying a third.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As of fan of Phillips electric toothbrushes, I have owned this model in the past. It is sensibly priced and does a very good job of cleaning. My main complaint is the single button arrangement and having to go through different modes in order to turn the brush off.

I have used sonicare for years, having the larger more expensive version first. It lasted forever! Trying the new slimmer head and size thought it would be as nice....no such luck. I've already gone through two within a year. The mechanism that works the vibrating head malfunctions. Go for the original!
Pros: easy for travel holds charge well.
Cons: doesn't last.
